I have just read my email and i am pretty discusted tbh,i have been with virgin for 10 years i left last year to go with sky hd with the promis to myself i would return to virgin when they receved hd.
I phoned virgin last month to explain i would me leaving sky cause of this reason they gave me a very good deal 2 hd boxes,50meg broadband,and xl phone.
I phoned sky they offerded me 6 moths half price tv a saving of £24 and another free hd box sounds like a good deal untill they wanted another £10 for the extra hd subscription.
I told them no way thats teriable there should just 1 cost per house hold there are rumours on a differnt forum that sky could drop the hd cost.
Now my point is i have now recived news that it will cost me £14 extra a month for the hd channles which 1 is only £6 cheaper then skys.2 sky still offer more hd channles and also sky include the 3d channle in the hp package which is handy when i have a 3d tv.
So i have writing to the complaints deparment as retiotion's could not do nothing to help me and if i dont get a saitisfactory answer i will leave virgin as i only had it renstalled Sat.
I understand they might be a charge but mabey £5 for the hd channles per account if your on xl tv would be fair so im waiting for a reply now.:mad:

Lets just hope that all new HD channels from now on come under the £7 charge.

They should also be told about what a bad deal this is for SkY sports only subscribers maybe a £3.50 charge would have been more appropriate.

If they are looking at vip pricing it makes me wonder if they simply forgot about the vip package and overlooked it.

With regards to VIP, and this is just purely speculation on my part, either the price for VIP will come down or it will stay the same and they will improve the package (free preimium HD, 50mb broadband maybe), or they may improve the package and increase the price slightly (£5)

But as I said, this is all just speculation on my part.

That it still uses the legacy £10 a month charge for V+ is simply shocking.

Personally I don't think they'll add XXL BB to VIP, the cost of modem switchouts would be far too high. I think they'll drop the £10 a month for V+ from it, and add the premium HD for free (effectively cutting £17 off the current cost) and then add a new tier of VIP, VIP+ or something that includes XXL BB at around about the current VIP price point (or £2 cheaper, -£10 V+ fee, +£8 XXL BB).

That'd go a long long way to restoring the value of VIP (whilst still providing less of a saving than it did when it first launched) and I think would stop the current complaints.

I just have one quick question on this £7 charge, being on a retention deal will the sky sports HD upgrade effect it?

I was offered once a bundle which to me meant a broadband upgrade to 20mbits, but when I asked CS they said if I upgraded it would mean losing my retention deal:confused:
