Yes I would like Modric he's a great player and if he got back to the form he once had Schneider would be good too.

We went into the season with one playermaker who had hardly had any games before in Cleverly. That was a mistake. I'd still argue we lack a right back at the club and Nani more often than not can't hit the ball to save his life but never seems to develop as a player.

Will be interesting to see if Spurs can hang onto their decent players and build on this season or end up selling and going backwards

l think Spurs will find it increasingly hard to hold onto Modric and l believe he leave the club come this summer and l expect Chelsea and Man Utd to make bids for him and there could also be one or two other clubs chasing him as well.

On Schneider l am not sure about him as one he has lost his form and two he is becoming injury prone as well.

A man has been arrested over claims by ex-footballer Stan Collymore that he was sent racial abuse on Twitter.

Collymore contacted Staffordshire Police who passed on the complaint to Northumbria Police.

The 21-year-old man, believed to be from the Newcastle area, is currently in police custody on suspicion of racially-aggravated harassment

A spokeswoman for Northumbria Police said: "Just after midnight police received a complaint of racist comments that had been made on Twitter.
Lets hope they come down hard on these bigoted idiots.

Including the brain dead 'so called ' Liverpool fan at last nights game.

Liverpool may yet suffer more punishment but how on earth can they prevent goons like this from behaving in this way.

l know this has been a sorry tale for Liverpool in the last couple of months and yes they should be punished but also how do you stop these bigoted sick idiots coming out with their racist abuse and my belief is we have to have severe punishments to sort out these people who resort to this sickening level of racist abuse at aimed some people in our society..

Maybe reserve judgement until it's been investigated. We were 2 blocks away from the incident last night and didn't have a clue what had happened, I thought a missile had hit the lad or something. The usual suspects in the gutter rags seem to know better though even though their more respected colleagues have shown certain people up to be lying as usual. The bottom line is that it's being investigated via the proper channels so just wait and see what happens.

From todays Daily Telegraph ( hardly a gutter rag )

'An eyewitness, who gave evidence to Liverpool officials and the police' said: " I was to the right of the Kop and the No11 turned to walk back after a tackle. I heard a single voice shout 'you f------ black b------' the player turned round with shock on his face and started pointing at the crowd where the shout had come from".

Yes he was good in his first year but after that he never did it at all and my abiding memory of him will be the four goals he scored against Liverpool.

That was recycled from the Mirror and refuted by a BBC photographer. The journos sit nowhere near where the incident took place. The lad knows what upset him and he reported it plus there are stewards and police every few yards at pitch-side and up the aisles so I'm sure there 's plenty to go on.

Until something official comes from the club or the police then I wouldn't be prepared to accept anything printed in the newspapers regardless of the perceived reputation of the publication.

To be honest it wouldn't surprise me if someone had shouted something like that, there were a lot of bad idiots and day-trippers in last night which is the usual story when there are tickets left until the day before. What is odd though is that we didn't see anyone get thrown out when some reports are suggesting that 3 fans were ejected... there's usually a big kerfuffle when that happens.

Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini has claimed that rivals Manchester United are still the team to beat.

The sides meet in the FA Cup third round on Sunday, while City hold a three-point advantage over their rivals at the top of the Premier League.

United have suffered two successive league defeats in the last week, but Mancini said: "If you want my opinion, United are the best team in England.

"They have a strong team with a strong mentality and they are at the top."

United boss Alex Ferguson has played down the significance of "two bad results" ahead of the derby at the Etihad Stadium, and Mancini also refuted suggestions that City's neighbours are on the slide

"We can't be like [United] in two years; they have had this mentality for 25 years," Mancini said.

"We can improve if we continue to win - if we win the championship or other cups. We started it last season. But in two years it is impossible."

Well I suppose it was bound to happen given the ill advised Suarez T shirt stunt.

'Liverpool say they are checking all CCTV for the person who abused the Oldham player, they need his name and picture for T shirts in time for next home game'.
