I stand corrected then . But he mentioned a work around for something hmmmm.. Cazy CABLE installer forgetting to put the CABLE into the box. Not like he does it all day everyday.

Bit like a van driver forgetting to put the key in his van and wondering why it wouldnt start.

Anyways enough of me moaning I'm content VM left me happy. But I cant help thinking there was a quicker simpler way of getting here.

Maybe you should check out the TiVo Community forum before you get too excited. It looks like there are quite a few problems with the new TiVo. It has put me off totally. If and when they have this box market ready I might reconsider. I certainly will not fork out more money for a box that does less than my current V+ boxes.

I remain convinced that the only real advantage this TiVo has is a larger hard drive. I know that DF will come on here and praise things like uTube, a fancy search and other as yet unseen "apps" but ask yourself, what do we really use the box for? Watching and recording TV and that is what the V+ does brilliantly. The new TiVo will not be able to match it until all the promised add-ons, such as the third tuner, are up and running. How long are you prepared to wait for all these features to be introduced and have all the inevitable bugs cleared?

What can I say. I'm obviously an idiot and VM's CS reps are open minded and willing to help.

I did'nt recieve the "agreement" I can PM you my account number for you to check you'll see no sign agreement received. I was meant to be getting a second copy sent out, STILL WAITING although its useless now.

It's not unreasonable to say the lifetime for an STB would be around 10 years, in which case withdrawing the lifetime sub would be easily justifiable.

For the s1 TiVo, the 'lifetime' was in fact defined as the lifetime of the actual TiVo unit that the sub is assigned to.

I had mine for a couple of years paying £10pm for the subs (unable to afford the lifetime-sub at the time of the original purchase).... then considered the lifetime-sub but decided not to as I envisaged the unit perhaps not lasting a further 20mths +

If I had a fully functioning s1 TiVo with lifetime-sub attached.... then I'd be a bit peeved too.

OK.

I did check the facts, I saw the 50% offer and rang VM they guy confirmed all packages have 50% off so I choose the £100ish VIP50 expecting to pay £50. I was being charged £76.

I asked about tivo and was told take vip50 for now an when its availible it will be a simple swap out. Although no time scale was offered for the tivo release other than to acknowledge he knew it was coming.

He forgot to mention the extra £200+ vm want for install. I explained all of this to VM and got no where, well I was told I need to take responsibility for whats happened. lol.

No fiction.

I rang up explained unfortunately they didnt seem to believe me a bit like your comment above indicates.

But I can say the services have worked perfectly so far. I havent tried to say they were unreliable or silly things like that. Can I ask if DF and Masque worked for NTL before it was VM. You dont seem like extelewest guys.

I'm not saying you are talking fiction. I'm talking about how contracts work etc :D

I'm ExTelewest through and through :)

I've just been there and can't see many problems? Which ones are you talking about in particular?
