No kids just the pups….

SWMBO arrived with ‘I think we should….’ Which translates to ‘you’re going to do’

Fantastic UK weather again for another 2 weeks off in the UK for days out, I timed my 2 weeks off perfectly back in June too. I can't remember such a good summer in the UK before, atleast as an adult I can't really remember how long it lasted 40 odd years ago.

Out for another association walk this morning with Rossi our idiotic greyhound and Oliver who’s coming to us after we get back home from holiday. He’s currently being fostered by one of the rescue center workers as he was not coping in kennels at all, Brindle lurcher less than a year old, was kept in a garage , horrifically treated & never associated with other dogs.

So this is a slowly slowly to make sure he’s ok. Everytime we go and meet him and spend time with him there’s a little less fear and a little less nervousness.

Should be soccer - October to March then cricket for the other 6 months. OK, with our weather maybe allow the soccer to run to May but it really shouldn't start so early.

And then holding the world cup (Rugby is guilty of this too) in the middle of the northern summer!!! They should move this around so it's held in the winter for the hemisphere it is located in. That way it doesn't always disrupt the local game in the south.

They did that for a recent world cup I'm sure and it was plain weird. I think the main idea is that its during the time between seasons.

I feel the same with Soap Operas, too many of them and they're constantly on the TV. Add to those the crap like 4 in a bed, Bake off, Masterchef, that SAS rubbish and all the celebrity housewifes of some shithole nobody cares about.

Which is why I don't watch them :p:

True, all the same just with a different set/staff/cast/task but essentially the same.
And, I believe, it was soccer here too for quite some time too. Was it the Americans using it that pushed to using football. Still using soccer distinguishes it from the various other "football" games especially that one that rarely uses the foot (the one that you don't touch down to get a touch down).

I'm not sure if this was part of this update but I've just discovered it via Reddit.

If I go into settings/rules I can automatically set my phone to vibrate only when in certain locations. So when I go to work I always manually have to set it but now it's automatically done, this is a huge quality of life setting for me.

My Pixel 2 Watch still looks and behaves like it always did, maybe I need to update that.

Just tested that auto rule setting and it works perfectly, definitely a quality of life feature as I work unusual shifts so it's great to have. My whole job is manual work I'm an expert at it. Zzzz lol

Still annoys me I can't get rid of that damn search bar on the home screen.

Well last Admiral tried to charge me £975 on my insurance with 36 years NCB, I told them WTF, they dropped it to £775, I said bye.

Aviva Zero (via compare the market) said £401.

I said take my money.

Well one year later, I expected it to go up, but with my new job it dropped to £253.33.

I'm well chuffed.

Was the high premium because you were unemployed at the time?

I future I recommend going through Topcashback site so you don't have to phone up and you will likely get £35 cash back on top of your cheaper premium.

I just gave my GP a call curious whether they offer ear treatment. To my surprise they do. I did search the GP website beforehand where its stated yes by third party but obviously that's wrong. The staff member made an initial ear check appointment then it'll be decided whether I need further treatment. It's just as well I brought otex ear drops today which I'll need to use leading up to the appointment. There's a lot of miss information out there. It's sometimes best to play dumb and seek help. I didn't need to frantically call in the morning :D

Health and safety obviously. You're not allowed to play conkers anymore. Well not without full body armour, helmet and goggles etc and certainly not without a responsible adult present who at least needs to be trained in H&S and has legal advice to adjudicate.

Same applies to those climbing trees, making rope swings, crafting bows and arrows, swimming in the local ponds/rivers, and all other activities that once were fun as a youngster.

I remember buggering off out after breakfast and coming home (late) for the evening meal - warmed up in the oven if you were lucky :D

Pretty sure it didn't kill me or any of my friends ;)

Often good to be honest and report it. Chances are they can't be bothered but also checks that there is nothing dodgy happening on your account.

I've got 2FA on my account so I know my accounts in order. The thing is they say they've received the return, so they will have to come to me I'm not going to stress over something minor I've purchased, it's not like it was a a TV or anything unfortunately.

Can well believe that, I once looked at those canal boat things and it wasn't just the price of 'buying' the boat that killed it, it was all the extras required to keep and maintain the damn thing - you can't leave them in the garage until the weekend can you

Had a home visit from a nurse sent by our surgery, in response to my communication to them re my concern about my unintentional weight loss, approx 2.1/2 stones since July. Blood pressure was 120/70, temperature normal, in fact all vital signs normal, with the bonus I had put on a little weight. :):):) :hyper:

Octopus produced my final bill, over 3 months late.

As a result, they credited the bill amount to my account, to pay it off, and gave me a extra £40 refund as well. :)

I survived the dentist for the crown preparation, probably the biggest and longest appointment I've ever had! I took the day off work so got a nice long weekend to chill out now.

I now realise just how barebones my old NHS dentist practice that I went to for 49 years with only 2 people where the receptionist was also the dental nurse!
