He's been off on international duty and did an interview for our web site when he came back. When asked how he was settling in to life in the EPL he said
Quote:

“It’s been OK because my teammates have really helped me and I think I’m settling in now, so I’m happy,” he explained.

“When I play on the pitch I just want to get three points and to help my teammates, which is the most important thing for me.

“It has not been easy. It has been a tough start for me, but I’ve enjoyed the atmosphere and the intensity of the game too.

“It’s always very hard to keep the same performance level but I think everything is going well and we’ll see.

“I think every game in the Premier League is always tough, but we are ready for the game and come Sunday we will see what happens.”
I think it'll still take him a while to get used to having less time on the ball.

Think he'll come good, he actually shone most in the CL games. Thanks for posting that article. Good luck in the season mate.

Yes we make more than any Scottish side by a mile but doesn't stand up to the vast majority of German, Spanish, Italian, French, Portugese, English and probably the Dutch league in terms of TV revenue etc. Not to mention the money sloshing about in Russian football. We do just fine for a Scottish side.

Oh and today's game another thriller from the best league in the world. Gary Neville himself alluded to fact the EPL has been poor this season so far

Celtic were rated the 23rd richest club in the world 3 years ago, what part of having more resources than most is nonsense and if a club can't get past some Albanian Pub team and the like they don'tdeserve the champions league.cash.

''England doesn't attract big players'' If West Ham can attract Carlos Tevez then I think you need to look a bit closer. I bet we don't make their careers either.

Ronaldo - Real Madrid £80 Million.
Bale - Real Madrid £85 Million.

England "no longer" attract the best players. What English team is Tevez at? Exactly, was he ever one of the best players playing in Europe, don't think so, certainly not when he joined West Ham. Bale and Ronaldo as you say no longer play in England, funny that, they were really good so they left. Happens all the time in Scotland, happening in England now too.

I enjoy a lot of the EPL but Spain, Germany and to a degree France have left you behind in attracting the best of them.

Ozil is the only exception I can think of that came to England recently

How many of the starting 11 of Germany, Spain, Italy, Argentina and Brazil are in the Premiership, not many says it all really.

You completely missed the point.

France? Yeah those players went to Monaco because they love the French division and it had nothing to do with the £200,000pw their new Russian boss offered them. :dozey:

To answer your question. 7 Spanish international team players in the Premier League. So nearly a third of the Spanish team consists of Premier League players..

No you completely changed my point, in fact you ignored it totally.Very few top players come to England and if a player progresses or "has his career made" as you put it in England, he leaves. Regardless of why these players play in mainland Europe is irrelevant, they no longer are attracted to the EPL

Doesn't change how much people may enjoy it. I love watching my club and Larsson is probably the only semi top player we've had in 30 years, wouldn't want to follow any other side though.

That'll be why I said Albanian pub side and the like. It was only the year before I said that Celtic were in the rich list top 20 as well and you're right I will be, if I ever had such a thing as a second club Celtic would be it.

Because you assume the footballing world still thrives on this 'attraction' Money has replaced attraction. You might not understand that in a league filled with Academy rejects from just south of the border and a transfer kitty that could only afford a Heskey.

'The French league in ways' is a pure example. For you to think the likes of Falcao went to France because he was attracted is hilarious. Ask his agent now living in £10 millions worth of mansion.

Football is a monopoly and the EPL heads it.

If you offered Falcao £400,000 a week to play for Celtic, he'd be eating Haggis by 20 past 9.

Kinda bitter there mate. I agree that money monopolises football, but doesn't change the fact that EPL is no longer a Mecca for the top players, it never was. Agree to disagree, I'll enjoy watching Celtic win things and every now and again do ok in the CL if we qualify or have a run in the Europa. You enjoy watching Newcastle erm :erm: eh em............ implode usually;)

Oh and virtually all of our players are International players not Academy players, not at the highest level but we realise why that is. You stay delusional now bonny lad ;)

Glad to here it and thanks :) Think we'll get pumped tbh, but them's the breaks. I'll bugger off back to the Jocks thread now. Who is your first team mate?
