don't forget that as well as buying all the players Roman also bought the team and wiped out their 80m debt.. he then paid off Raneiri .. bought out their shirt sponsor a year early.. bought a new training ground.. wiped out even more debt the club were in the season after too

the total he has spent is way more than United have over the past 10 years

@Chrysalis

So you were under the impression that I think it's only the strikers who give a team it's success?

I was answering your remark about how you scored more goals which the bulk have been scored by your strikeforce.

I dont want to be mistaken for a chelsea lover, I dont like them one bit now, I defenitly dont like how they buying players just to have them on standby and ruining their careers. I just find it ironic man u fans are slamming buying success when their club is one of the biggest spenders in europe.

Of course United are one of the biggest spenders, no-one could ever doubt that. But Chelsea are far ahead of the pack when it comes to how much has been spent on the team.

So I stand by my point that us winning the title this year would be an excellent way of showing Chelsea where they can stick their millions.

Confidence or arrogance ?

Sir Alex Ferguson has dragged Manchester United back into the title race, Jose Mourinho's pre-eminence is under serious threat but ArsÃÃâ€*’¨ne Wenger still claims that it is Arsenal who could yet decide the destiny of the Premiership. It was with a grin on his face that the Arsenal manager looked forward to his visit to Old Trafford on Sunday and suggested "if [Roman] Abramovich calls me, we can help him".

Celtic won the Scottish Premier League tonight, before the SPL split, first team to do that ever, cause the split is stupid and not that long implemented.

Here's hoping Hearts get second spot in the league......... :erm:

what is the point of the split, gives team in 6th a massive disadvantage over team in 7th.

I was in the horrible position last night of actually wanting Celtic to win. After a shower I still feel dirty ;)

And yes the split is completely pointless.

They apparently turned down the £70 million + deal with online gambling company Mansion because of the sensitivity to online gambling in the States and also the fact that one of Mansions largest shareholders is an Indonesian company called Sampoerna, that countries largest cigarette manufacturer, they are in turn now owned by Phillip Morris.

That's the nice story thay'd like you to think infact the gambling company pulled out because United where doing secret deals behind their back.

Well this "secret deal" must be worth turning down a £70m deal for a £56m deal

Any ideas what that deal was SDA?

So say Mansion.

Why would Man Utd only negotiate with one company?
