The Fugue appears to have taken the long journey from Britain to Los Angeles well ahead of the Breeders' Cup meeting at Santa Anita next weekend.

John Gosden is hoping the three-times Group One winner will have better luck than 12 months ago, when she was third in the Filly & Mare Turf after enduring a rough passage in the mile-and-a-quarter race.

David Pipe's seven-year-old was a leading staying hurdler a couple of seasons ago and shone as a novice chaser last term, winning four of his five starts over fences.

The Charlie Hall Chase was discussed as a potential option for the exciting grey, but Pipe has decided to revert to the smaller obstacles for his first start of the campaign, in the race registered as the West Yorkshire Hurdle.
