The Fugue arrives safely in LA.

The Fugue appears to have taken the long journey from Britain to Los Angeles well ahead of the Breeders' Cup meeting at Santa Anita next weekend.

John Gosden is hoping the three-times Group One winner will have better luck than 12 months ago, when she was third in the Filly & Mare Turf after enduring a rough passage in the mile-and-a-quarter race.

Kingman 'fine' after ankle op.

Quote:

Trainer John Gosden is looking forward to preparing Kingman for his three-year-old campaign after the colt underwent minor surgery for an ankle problem.

The Khalid Abdullah-owned colt goes into winter quarters as ante-post favourite for the Qipco 2000 Guineas in many books, despite having to miss the Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere at Longchamp three weeks ago.

Eleven to go for magical McCoy.

Tony McCoy is just 11 winners away from the magical 4,000 over jumps after a double on Eastlake and Deadly Sting at Aintree.

Fresh from a treble on Saturday, the 18-times champion took another step closer to yet another record-breaking achievement with a brace for trainer Jonjo O'Neill that again illustrated his talents in the saddle.

Joshua Tree could be on his travels again later this year after becoming the first horse in history to win the Canadian International at Woodbine on three occasions.

The six-year-old first claimed the Grade One prize in 2010 for trainer Aidan O'Brien and jockey Colm O'Donoghue and was runner-up 12 months later, having switched to Newmarket-based Italian handler Marco Botti.

Twin lights up Naas contest

http://www.attheraces.com/article.as...=&sub=&day=Mon

Quote:

Twinlight ran out a very impressive winner of the Grade Three Poplar Square Chase at Naas for Willie Mullins and Ruby Walsh.

What looked a competitive race on paper was turned into something of a procession by the six-year-old, who tracked Realt Mor for much of the contest.

Long Run, the 2011 Cheltenham Gold Cup winner and dual King George VI Chase scorer, heads 11 entries for the bet365 Charlie Hall Chase at Wetherby on Saturday.

The Nicky Henderson-trained gelding has made his seasonal debut in the Betfair Chase at Haydock for the last two years but connections report the eight-year-old to be ready for a run slightly earlier this autumn.

Fishers on course for Wetherby

http://www.attheraces.com/article.as...=&sub=&day=Mon

Wetherby's bet365 Hurdle on Saturday has been reopened after only nine entries were received.

The Grade Two contest, better known as the West Yorkshire Hurdle, was won 12 months ago by Tidal Bay and Paul Nicholls' enigmatic 12-year-old is due to defend his crown.

Last year's leading staying novice hurdler At Fishers Cross is also due to begin his campaign in the race.

Dynaste all set for Wetherby return

http://www.attheraces.com/article.as...=&sub=&day=Tue

Quote:

Dynaste will make his seasonal return in the bet365 Hurdle at Wetherby on Saturday.

David Pipe's seven-year-old was a leading staying hurdler a couple of seasons ago and shone as a novice chaser last term, winning four of his five starts over fences.

The Charlie Hall Chase was discussed as a potential option for the exciting grey, but Pipe has decided to revert to the smaller obstacles for his first start of the campaign, in the race registered as the West Yorkshire Hurdle.

Elliott takes time with Don.

Quote:

Gordon Elliott is in no rush to make plans for Don Cossack following his brilliant chasing debut at Galway on Monday.

The Gigginstown House Stud-owned six-year-old has always been held in the highest regard by his County Meath handler and looked a potential world-beater when winning three of his four bumper starts.
