The box, smash hits, kerrang, kiss will be moving to the m pack in the summer (rumour)

This would make sense as they are already FTA, and would bring the free pack more in line with freesat, freesat from sky.

They now have a app on Samsung smart tvs too which allow you to view nowtv, the box etc so i think my source is onto something regarding the rumour of smash hits etc moving to m pack.

To be honest the music channels have slipped into a mash of repetiveness and become preoccupied with recycling the top 20 over and over again. however with a few notable exceptions being vintage tv, mtv classic.

As a side note I'm coming back to virgin from Sky from tuesday!

I tend to use youtube for music these days as you correctly state the music channels just repeat the same top 20 over and over.
I don't have sky or virgin i use online tv and on demand etc.

I think in the end music channels just exist to prop up advertiser revenue. They did at one time proved an interesting channel genre. However with the popularity of youtube, spotify etc I think it will only be a matter of time before they disappear from television altogether, and will be accessed through online only.

Isn't the same true of most channels? They wouldn't get the advertising revenue if people didn't watch them.

Channels 24 will launch on Virgin Media in the near future.

Channels 24 launches in UK

Channels Television, one of Africa’s leading television broadcasters, has officially launched its news and current affairs station, Channels 24, in the UK.

Viewers can find the new station on Sky Channel 575. Airing on Virgin Media and Freesat will soon follow.

Channels 24 brings African and international news and current affairs content – politics, business, sports, entertainment, lifestyle and health – to viewers in the UK. The launch is part of Channels Television’s strategic plan to move the company’s regional broadcasting to a global level.

Commenting on the station’s launch, co-founder and chairman, John Momoh, said: “We are delighted that we are able to extend our services to the UK. As the world’s fastest-growing continent, international interest in Africa is increasing. The spotlight is on our continent and Africa must rise to the occasion. Channels 24 is the world’s window on Africa”.

Base on information we have seen over this past weekend:

-Six V0-- channels have started to test with audio.
-Some more V0-- channels are testing with no audio.

We feel that half of them testing are the missing HD channels from UPC Ireland.

I think your`e right unless they`re able to change somehow? Maybe offer live exclusive concerts or music documentaries made by the channel or for the channel? i don`t watch these channels so maybe they already do?
