European fillies set for Juvenile

http://www.attheraces.info/article.a...e&sub=&day=Thu

Quote:

Group One Newmarket winners Chriselliam and Vorda form part of a very strong European challenge for the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf at Santa Anita next Friday.

The former, who caused a bit of an upset for Charlie Hills in the Fillies' Mile at Ascot, should be joined on the trip from Britain by the Marco Botti-trained Al Thakhira, who was so impressive in the Rockfel Stakes

O'Brien favouring Turf for Magician.

Quote:

Aidan O'Brien has suggested Magician will take in the Breeders' Cup Turf rather than his option of the Mile at Santa Anita on November 2.

An impressive winner of both the Dee Stakes at Chester and the Irish 2000 Guineas, the son of Galileo has not been seen since a very disappointing effort in the St James's Palace at Royal Ascot, for which he had suffered an intererrupted preparation.

Aintree on Tea agenda again.

Grand National third Teaforthree could start his season in the Welsh National in late December.

The Rebecca Curtis-trained nine-year-old was runner-up in the Grade Three event at Chepstow last season and went on to run a fantastic race to make the frame in the world's most famous steeplechase at Aintree in April.

Treble tops for centurion McCoy

Tony McCoy sailed past the 100-winner mark for the season with a quick 11-1 treble at Carlisle.

The perennial champion jockey, who is rapidly chasing down the major milestone of 4,000 winners over jumps, gave Jonjo O'Neill's Milan Bound a patient ride in the starsportsbet.co.uk Novices' Hurdle at Carlisle, before following up in the same JP McManus colours on board Pendra and Upswing.

Jwala set for Hong Kong farewell

Robert Cowell's Group One-winning filly Jwala is set to finish her racing career in the Hong Kong Sprint on December 8.

Very consistent at Listed level during the season, Manor Farm Stud's daughter of Oasis Dream caused a 40-1 surprise in the Nunthorpe at York. She was up with the pace when looking to follow up in the Prix de l'Abbaye, eventually holding on to fourth.

Gamble Pinzolo ready for Doncaster.

http://www.attheraces.com/article.as...e&sub=&day=Fri

Quote:

Pinzolo attempts to justify market support in the Racing Post Trophy at Doncaster on Saturday.

The Charlie Appleby-trained Monsun colt was one of four horses added at the confirmation stage at a cost of £17,500, and has been backed down to a price where he is now challenging for favouritism.

He was last seen maintaining his unbeaten record with a battling defeat of subsequent winner Red Galileo at Newbury

Plans on hold for Simonsig.

http://www.attheraces.com/article.as...3&sub=&day=Fri

Quote:

Star chaser Simonsig is set for a spell on the sidelines after suffering a setback in his preparation for the new campaign.

Nicky Henderson's dashing grey was unbeaten in three starts during his debut season over fences and completed his hat-trick in the Arkle Trophy at the Cheltenham Festival in the spring.

The seven-year-old headed ante-post lists for the William Hill King George VI Chase at Kempton on Boxing Day, but is "highly unlikely" to line up at Kempton, or anywhere else over the Festive period, according to his trainer.

Estimate set to stay in training

http://www.attheraces.com/article.as...e&sub=&day=Fri

Quote:

The Queen's top-class stayer Estimate is set to stay in training next year, despite failing to end the season on a high note at Ascot on Saturday.

The four-year-old filly had given her owner an unforgettable day when winning the Gold Cup at the Royal meeting and another big performance was expected in the Qipco British Champions Long Distance Cup.

James Tate is expecting a bold show from Invincible Strike in the Worthington's Whizz Kids Stakes, providing he handles the testing conditions at Newbury.

The Invincible Spirit colt made an impressive winning debut at Hamilton in late August before just failing to give lumps of weight to smart filly Stars Above Me at Leicester.

Kingston claims Trophy glory.

http://www.attheraces.com/article.as...=&sub=&day=Sat

Quote:

Roger Varian is dreaming of Classic success next year after Kingston Hill continued the Newmarket trainer's love affair with Doncaster by winning the Racing Post Trophy.

His first ever runner, Eton Forever, was a winner on Town Moor on April 2, 2011, when he took over the reins at Kremlin House stables after the late Michael Jarvis retired.

Kingston Hill only made his debut five weeks ago and after winning the Group Three Autumn Stakes at Newmarket on his second start, Varian and owner Paul Smith took the decision to supplement the colt at a cost of £17,500 on Monday, and it paid off.

Conquisto conquers Old Roan rivals

http://www.attheraces.com/article.as...=&sub=&day=Sun

Quote:

Tony McCoy guided Conquisto to a clear-cut victory in the Betfred Monet's Garden Old Roan Chase at Aintree on an afternoon when the champion rode three winners.

Making his first start since early May and racing off a career-high mark of 150, the Steve Gollings-trained Conquisto was a 17-2 chance for this prestigious Grade Two prize and travelled sweetly throughout.

Astracad put up a bold effort from the front, with Mr Moonshine also bang there from the start, but Conquisto stalked that pair into the straight and responded when asked to come up early at the final fence, producing a giant leap to land running and take the lead. He galloped all the way to the line to score by a length and a quarter from Astracad.
