we'd all love to see that but what with his a wages and the fact that we'd lose out on 20m plus transfer money means it won't happen

as mal said his actual play ins't that great.. he has lotsof tricks but then fails to beat the final man and loses the ball or never delivers a killer pass either.. he's not a proper winger and has never been a replacement for Beckham something we still need

Great article in the Times on July 6th (and in their online version)

Full article
http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article...6-2258469.html

funniest bit (imho)

Ronaldo might be custom-built to get up the noses of all the followers of English football. He is good-looking in a gloriously smarmy, Italian-waiter fashion and is seriously vain about this. He has the air of a man who thinks that the world in general, and football in particular, not only owes him a living but also a perpetual gratitude at being privileged to know him.

He is distinguished more than anything else by his use of the stepover, a showy and †” occasionally †” effective footballing ploy. Someone once claimed that he set a world record for stepovers in a single match †” 504 †” beating the previous record of eight.
He has become the Violet Elizabeth Bott of football: Give me the ball and if you take it away Iâ₠™ll scream and scream until Iâ₠™m sick †” and I can.

the little s**t has now said he doesn't mind staying as Man U won't let him go anyway

i'm just hoping to see the back of him he's shown over the past few days he has no commitment to the club whatsoever

Your having a laugh aint you - he wanted to go because the bitter English were going to kick the living squit out of him and by the look of some of the posts on here he'd be right too.

Man U didnt exactly jump to his defence did they?

No wonder he wanted to leave and now you turn on him because Man U force him to stay.

You lot are twisted.

Ronaldo has shown that all he cares about is himself.. he's already come out and said i'm off to Real or Barca and now when Man U have said no you aren't we are going to keep you he's now come out with another comment to try and please the fans saying i love man u and want to stay

it's all the usual sort of rubbish you get from footballers and he doesn't mean a word of it..

what do you think he would say if Real offered 100m for him and Man U accepted it ?

What defence should Utd have jumped to?

As was pointed out previously, he was playing for Portugal at the time and club links has nothing to do with it.

Yup, but as he had to come back to Man U after the cup it would have been nice for Man U to stick up for their player that was being ferociously attacked by a bitter English media.

Why should Ronaldo be expected to stick by a "team" and a "club" that kept quiet whilst his name was dragged through the mud within the country he plays in; whilst he is abroad doing his best for his country?

Do you think Ronaldo was planning on leaving Man U before the dogs that call themselves fans of football set upon him?

Don't forget, England needs to blame someone for not winning the World Cup - and there's no way on earth it could ever be the only decent striker left in the squad who studded some bloke's spuds and got sent off for his efforts could it??

Going round in old circles are we BR? - All this, lets call the English bitter is becoming boring now.

Let's not forget that it is those two players which were fouling Rooney 10 seconds prior to the incident, it wouldn't of got that far if the ref had dealt with what them two were doing to Rooney.

I wouldn't class myself as a big English fan, yes I wanted them to win, but I didn't splash out on flags and England shirts and such like - but I know a cheat, when I see one, oh and a bit of a drama queen as well, a dive here, a dive there, "Please give us a penalty ref" - Ronaldo fits into this category big time-end of.

Fristly and lets clear this up - i was the one being accused of being bitter, i didnt accuse anyone of being bitter in the other thread. If Sven had listened to me you might have got a bit further in the world cup. Go and review it if you like, you will see in my last few posts that i summed it all up for you in a nice "hard to swallow" portion.

Now to your other points, is it right that irrespective of what the other players did to rooney that Ronaldo should be hounded out of a country where he makes a living, a country which claims to be free and fair and multi-cultural? Is it fair he is attacked daily in the newspapers for doing his job (a job he did well that day), is it fair he is made to feel afraid in his own home just because he played for his country?

Im a football fan, not a thug, not a racist, not bitter and i know where the boundaries lie, maybe your happy to live in a society like that, but im not.

These stories have been doing the rounds for a couple of years now and just before the World Cup he said he wanted to leave, I dont know why you chose not to mention that?
