Former President Donald Trump repeatedly told his onetime White House chief of staff, John Kelly, that he wanted the Internal Revenue Service to investigate his political foes, Kelly told The New York Times.

Among the people Trump wanted to “get the I.R.S. on” were former FBI Director James Comey and former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, Kelly told the newspaper.

“I would say, ‘It’s inappropriate, it’s illegal, it’s against their integrity and the I.R.S. knows what it’s doing and it’s not a good idea,’” Kelly said he told Trump, according to the Times.

“Yeah, but they’re writing bad things about me,” Trump responded, according to Kelly.

Trump’s DOJ Pushed for Prosecution of Political Enemies, Book Claims

Former U.S. Attorney Geoffrey Berman writes in 'Holding the Line' that the administration went after critics like former Secretary of State John Kerry

FORMER SOUTHERN DISTRICT of New York attorney Geoffrey Berman claims the Trump administration’s Justice Department pushed investigations into Trump’s critics that “would directly further Mr. Trump’s desires for revenge and advantage,” according to a copy of his new book Holding the Line.

Irrelevant. Trump is no longer president.

How is it irrelevant ?

I really dont give a toss one way or the other about US politics, but I dont think things a president does become irrelevant simply because they are no longer president.

I'm sure a lot of presidents (and prime ministers ;)) would love that to be the case, but its not. :)

It’s irrelevant because even when Trump suggested his own DOJ at the time, investigate people who bad mouthed him, they ignored him and no investigations took place.

However, several investigations have been ongoing for awhile against Trump, all instigated by Democrat supporting attorneys, specifically the ones in New York.

Yet he is intending to be elected again and comes out with this.

Former President Donald Trump argued for the “termination” of the U.S. Constitution after wondering whether to simply throw out the 2020 election results and declare him the winner this weekend.

“So, with the revelation of MASSIVE & WIDESPREAD FRAUD & DECEPTION in working closely with Big Tech Companies, the DNC, & the Democrat Party, do you throw the Presidential Election Results of 2020 OUT and declare the RIGHTFUL WINNER, or do you have a NEW ELECTION?” Trump wrote on his Truth Social media platform Saturday morning, republishing again later that day.

“A Massive Fraud of this type and magnitude allows for the termination of all rules, regulations, and articles, even those found in the Constitution. Our great ‘Founders’ did not want, and would not condone, False & Fraudulent Elections,” he continued.

I was willing to give him a chance when elected but he turned out ti be a prick!

January 6 committee recommends criminal charges against Donald Trump

Former president Trump's behaviour during the January 6 US Capitol riots has been branded an "utter moral failure and a clear dereliction of duty" by an investigating committee, who say he is "unfit for any office".

The committee investigating the January 6 storming of the US Capitol is recommending criminal charges against former President Donald Trump.

They include conspiracy to defraud the United States; obstructing an official proceeding (the certification of Joe Biden's election victory); conspiracy to make a false statement and inciting or assisting an insurrection.

The recommendation is mainly symbolic - with the US Justice Department responsible for deciding whether or not to prosecute Mr Trump.

But committee chair, Democrat Bennie Thompson, said: "We have every confidence that the work of this committee will help provide the road map to justice."

Don’t get too excited they’re just referrals, from the pathetic Democrat majority run committee.

Made out of Russia this corrupt Democrat lot, going after political enemies.

While this conclusion is from a Democrat led committee, a lot of the evidence they gathered is directly from the Trump White House or other people formerly loyal to him. Having read a summary of some of the worst of it, I’d be very surprised if the DoJ doesn’t think there’s a prima facie case to answer. That means he will go on trial.

The Democrats have got everything they could reasonably have hoped for at this stage. Trump’s delaying tactics were intended to get the process dragging on into next year when a GOP-majority House could forcibly kill it. But Trump couldn’t delay it long enough and now the work is done.

While Trump is of course deserving of a fair trial, I have to say, based on the damning evidence of his direct attempts to subvert the 2020 election process, it’s a bit rich to sling accusations of corruption at those trying to bring him to account.

Re: FBI searches former president Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate

But Democrats denied the election results in 2016. Democrats angrily said “fight like hell” oh Capital Hill, when Trump nominated his 3rd Supreme Court pick. Congressman Raskin, who was on Jan 6th Committee, obstructed Certification proceedings, in 2016, by standing up on the floor, demanding Trump’s certification be null & void. Democrat Sheila Jackson did the same.

Some of their other rhetoric…during certain events in the Trump era.

It’s a kangaroo justice arm, with a political aim of weaponising the justice system, the Democrats are rotten to the core, who let their States turn to shit, with high crime and homelessness & high opioid drug deaths.

According to 2019 FBI data, seven out of ten states with the highest per-capita rates of violent crime voted Republican in the 2020 election. In contrast, seven out of ten states with the lowest rates voted Democrat.
https://www.thirdway.org/report/the-...murder-problem

Quote:

murder rates are, on average, 40% higher in the 25 states Donald Trump won in the last presidential election compared to those that voted for Joe Biden. In addition, murder rates in many of these red states dwarf those in blue states like New York, California, and Massachusetts. And finally, many of the states with the worst murder rates—like Mississippi, Kentucky, Alabama, South Carolina, and Arkansas—are ones that few would describe as urban.
Quote:

Eight of the top ten worst murder rate states voted for Trump in 2020. None of those eight has supported a Democrat for president since 1996.

And of those States, the they have a Democratic mayor. You must Google search harder Hugh.

Anyway, noticed you completely ignored the Democratic hypocrisy, violent political speech from the Dems, obstructing certification proceedings, in 2016, denying Trump won those States, by falsely suggesting the electors were not legally registered as such. Google can’t help you with that can it? Because it happened.
