Correct me if I'm missing something but if you have a 4k TV then there is a high chance it has its own iplayer app you can use.

I know there was quite an extensive list of compatible TVs on the BBC website so surely most must be covered if they want to watch in 4k HDR

As already said by me earlier, the trial of this worked just fine for me i think it was via the V6 but it may have been via the TV app.

Pathetic TBH!

How surprising

Wonder why when Sky Q customers will get it

Has the Sky box had the HDR update or will it just be shown in 4k without HDR?

I wonder why VM don't have it then, very strange.

BBC site says Blue Planet 2 is on Sky Q 4K with no HDR. HLG HDR is backwards compatible to non HDR.

No mention why V6 has been took off the Trial, or included for Blue Planet II, it was skipping, on mine anyway, my tv app did not.

Hopefully my Panasonic tv will get it in 4K HLG after the last episode tonight.

V6 may need updating.

I watched the UHD trial via my V6 on my Samsung HD tv (obviously not in UHD) so can't understand why the full Blue planet II cannot be shown.

Not everything is going to be in 4K.

There's always the online option.

Eurosport will offer the first digital games in Europe, with live coverage and on-demand. The Eurosport Player interactive service will be the only place where fans can follow 'online' every minute of every athlete and every sport, in mobile, tablets or through connected TVs. Eurosport Player will make users more than 4.000 hours of coverage and 100 events, including 900 hours of live broadcast, more than ever before in the continent.

Not even that high in my opinion - not sure why they would even bother, does any one watch Winter Olympics?

Best chance for UHD coverage this year is likely to be the Football World Cup - will this be via a linear channel or streaming online who knows.

Almost certainly it will only be streamed in UHD. It would use too much bandwidth to start adding UHD broadcast channels the traditional way.

All Tivos are MPEG4, so that helps. There will be spare capacity kept aside for future BBC Olympic channels and other events, and from Sky Cinema and Sports moving to be MPEG4 only.

Why do you say that ? With streaming many wouldn't be able to watch it so what's the point ?
