What features would you like to see in the next superhub?

The ability to pick wifi up without having to stand over the router ;)

My parents wifi coverage was that bad after their recent installation of 60mb service that they've put it in modem mode and are using an old N router , totally unacceptable.

Not "totally unacceptable", surely. Modem mode is the escape route and using an old N router didn't mean laying out any more dosh.

I've ended up using a adsl n router I found in a charity shop ;) as an access point

VM laid out more dosh and your service costs more as a result

Yet by having fewer different modem types, they pay less for firmware updates and have less training to do so there are money savings to be made as well.

Re: Superhub 2

You mean more.

They only have one modem type.

By having one modem type with tons of superfluous features they pay more for firmware updates and training than by having the same modem without them. And way more than for the same modem with standard stock firmware that costs zero.

how much do you reckon VM pay for firmwares? is it not included in the contract ?

Too much, if they build their business case on not doing it more than once...

lets hope a lesson has been learnt then. Somebody should write a paper on it for the isp world and let it serve as an example on how things can go so terribly wrong

Normally I'd volunteer but the actuarial life expectancy would typically preclude most readers from actually completing the entire reading…. :(

Back to talking about the SuperHub 2

Does anyone have anymore information on the rumoured spec? I read somewhere that the people who are in the SH 2 trial are in an NDA until the 25th March, which has passed.
