That's just it.. There could be any number of reasons why the school wanted to do this. It could simply be that another club that is actually run by the school needs the space at that time...

You'd think though that with these accusations of "political correctness gone mad" someone would confirm or perhaps more tellingly, deny the situation.

well sad day for the kids, what is this country turning into?

Ermm excuse me but if they don't like it they can always go back to their own country. They are in our country they abide by our rules, this whole story has just shown how far we bend over to accomodate these people. They aren't moaning about men being in the same building as women when they are waiting in the Post Office to collect their giros.

They were born here.

This is their country.

Live with it!

The children might have been born here but I doubt the parents were, it's the parents who are causing the problems isn't it?

We do have first and second generation and possibly even third generations here by now...so the parents may well have been born here too.;)

As Maggy said, their parents are likely to have been born here as well.

However, even if they arrived on the last boat from Karachi, they are paying customers of a private institution and entitled to the service they have paid for, are they not?

yes the daughters go to a all girl school. They do not school with boys. They might see some doing gymnastics is the school gym if they are in school later than normal for some reason but they are still getting the service they pay for. I would imagine they drive or walk past boys on the way home unless the parents have complained and its a no boy zone on the public streets

I'm sure there were better and more convenient methods of dealing with the situation if they actually sat down and thought about it. But I think because racism is such a tender subject, they didn't want to wobble the ladder and took the easiest option, which is to close the place.

Actually they didn't 'close' anything. They offered to allow the club to start later in the evening but the club rejected this. And now they have told the club it can continue to use the school gym until Easter.

Whether the gym club has to close is entirely a matter for the leaders of the gym club. Personally, I doubt very much that it will close. There are other gyms in the area, they will move to one of those.

they rejected it because it was not an option as it would end to late for younger members which I think is fair enough. The club will get another gym the school will continue to pander to Muslims whats next there we most likely will never know but I am sure it wont end here

It always seems funny to me, that when children go to school or any educational property, the children are taught problems, when there parents go haywire, and this is probabely the case in this events, You will always get a big mouth parent that stirs up trouble, and it takes a very brave person to go up to that parent and say, ' look if you don't like it, **** off' and leave us to get on with our lifes, and don't ruin it for other people.

It's always seems funny to me that when something is said several times people just want to ignore the facts and keep posting the same thing over and over again.

Too late, you have already shown us your true colours. Why do you continue to dig your hole?
