The difference being in this case is United have apparently submitted a formal bid for Berbatov. Real have not submitted any bid for Ronaldo.

Chelsea are set to sign AC Milan's world player-of-the- year Kaka for a world-record fee of €100m (£79.2m). (The Guardian)

 Crazy money

Sunderland have had a £23m bid for Younes Kaboul, Pascal Chimbonda, Steed Malbranque and Teemu Tainio accepted by Tottenham. (Various)

And Niall Quinn accused the Hammers of over inflating the market last season, doofus, if Chel$ki are paying crazy money then they are paying money for old rope, the Spuds will be laughing all the way to the bank

Being a mad Spurs fan, as far as l am aware, Berba and Keano, are NOT for sale, and if Fergie can afford £30 million, he should shove it in his gob, to keep his gob shut, he has this opion, that he controls football, well he doesn't, if he cannot control that spoilt brat Ronaldo, then he could offer him to a lower division side, Berba is worth ten of him, Keano is a hero at The Lane, so l cannot see him leaving, Spurs are not a feeder

To be honest, I hope that Spurs keep Berbatov, as I don't really want him at Utd...I am not that impressed with him...

Hi The Daddy, If this rumour is true about Kaka, FOR £79.2 MILLION from Chelsea is true, which would not surprise me, then sorry to say, EACH and every Chelsea fans, are mad to go to Chelsea, and pay those Chelsea prices, no matter who the player is, NO one is worth that sort of money, if Chelsea can throw that sort of money about, they can reduce the season tickets for there fans, or give it to the players trust, to look after players that have to retire early, there are clubs fighting for survival, in the greatest game there is - football, each week, we all go to see our favourite team play, and it does cost a lot of money, if l go to Spurs, it will cost me about £90.00 for that game, but if players are going to cost this sort of money, then we might as well pack it in as at the end of the day it is US, who will be paying towards that cost, for example, for one game a club must get about £5.million, it is about time the football authorities put a stop to silly money, being paid for players.

No one is worth that sort of money, yet Milan turned the offer down, who is the sane one I wonder  Milan could do with that dosh as well, their team is so old and you know Ronaldo was priced similarly to Kaka and Real seemed to think they'd make a profit on the deal overall due to advertising

Tottenham have submitted a year's worth of evidence to the Premier League to support their complaint

Hi The Daddy, Being a Spurs supporter, let me tell you something, for the past 18 months, Spurs fans have had this Fergie & Berba, hanging over the club, for some unknown reason Fergie has this thing, that he can get away with everything he does, against the authorities, and it is about time, he went elsewhere, it unerves playaers, l am sure if Berba, wanted to leave the club, then l am sure Ramos and Levy, would let him go, but why should Spurs be the feeder clubs for the so called top four. I will only believe that something is happening at Tottenham, when it appears on the Spurs web page, As far as l am concerned, the papers only print rubbish, that, leads to more rubbish, check out the Spurs web page at www.spurs.co.uk or www.fansfc.co.uk, which give you football news up 5 minutes away.

As far as i am aware it's only this past week that United have put in one bid for Berbatov and thats it, i don't remember hearing anything about it 18 months ago as you claim. It will be intresting to see what articles Levy has found in The Sun to form his complaint against United from that long ago.

Point of order, but wasn't it Berbatov (or, at least, his agent) who's spent much of, let's see, yup, 18 months saying that he wants to leave Spurs anyway? I'm no great fan of Ferguson, but pretty much all he's done is confirmed that Man U have made a bid
