NO, driving without an MOT is an offence; fine up to £1000, that's two iPads!

But they'll never catch you as it's not a prority, ANPR is not set up to catch you and it doesn't raise money for El Gov and even if they fine you its far less cost than actually getting a valid MOT :D

Nobody EVER gets fined the maximum. Think £50 and a slapped wrist.

Even the moment you set foot outside the MOT station your vehicle could be in that state. A Safe vehicle is one where the owner actually KNOWS something about their car and fixes problems as they arise rather than an idiot who thinks that just because they have an up to date service record and a valid MOT that they need do nothing more than just drive it.

That is the greater danger IMHO than the presence or absence of a piece of paper.

Pretty sure the fixed penalty for no MOT is £100 now.

Of course if you get involved in a bump that injures someone and during the routine checks it's found you had no MOT stand by for a kicking from the court even if the cars condition had sod all to do with the accident.

In Scotland schools have been on holiday for a few weeks now but I know what you mean heero.
I don't know about the kids but I can tell you it's depressing for us parents "Back to school" means money ... the cost of school uniform can be quite expensive especially if they are now going to the High school as it usually means new blazers.

A battery for my daughter's phone.

The first one I bought from Slamtech (on play.com). It was swollen so I sent it back.

Since then they say they have sent out replacements FOUR times only for the them all to "disappear" in the post. A FIFTH was sent out "tracked" and that "disappeared" too.

Judging by their recent feedback, they are using the "lost in the post" excuse quite a bit recently. They are not answering emails now....BEWARE OF SLAMTECH!

No such rush here - I arrived well after 10am and there were several on the rack. I hadn't seen them advertised so just took a punt on it. I've never had a problem taking anything back to Lidl so for 40 with a 3 year warranty I thought it was worth it.

It doesn't have GPS but does have the facility to automatically start and stop recording when it detects a moving image. It can also automatically write protect the current video file when it detects an impact but there's not much more to it than that. I'll be testing it shortly as I head off to collect Osem San from his karate class.
