So happy for you Halycon. Have a really good time. I'm happy because in about six weeks time I will have the pain I have been living with for a year sorted. I was at the pain clinic today and at last the cause of the pain was diagnosed. Will be so good to be able to live a normal life again https://www.cableforum.co.uk/images/...2011/02/51.gif

Writes software for the iPhone. Personal membership entitles you to release your apps through Apple. Not sure if the Enterprise membership the uni has will let me do that, but it does also allow early access to new versions of the os.

Just finished servicing the keyboard on one of my old synths: 76 keys and 25 years of oxidation and grime. Two unresponsive keys now working and the whole thing is pretty much as good as new so well chuffed :)

What is a synths? and what did you use to clean it? and how do you take the keyboard apart without damaging it and back together again?

It's an old synthesizer like you used to see on TOTP in the 80s (it's called a Roland Super JX for any anoraks). It's quite easy to dissasemble so it was just a case of taking the keys and springs off then cleaning all the old dust and debris from the keybed and removing the oxidation from the microswitch contacts. Job done.

I suppose It's easy when you know how. That I would be afraid to try in case I didn't get it back right and I like my lappy two much to try something I'm not to sure about. :D:D Glad you got it sorted Uncle P anyway. I have a lot of dust on mine but I shall leave it for another day :D

Have a curry - that is supposed to help move things along....:D

There are other suggestions, but not on a family-friendly forum.....;)

Honestly, good luck - I hope you don't have to wait too long, and when the wee one decides to start moving, the duration isn't too extended.

All joking and mocking aside, it's good to see you not giving up and to keep on trying. :)

Well I've just come back from a rather stressful trip to our youngest's school. He'd had a fit and an ambulance had been called as the staff had encountered problems administering his emergency medication. It was there when I arrived and you can imagine how I felt as I ran in. Anyway, he was out for the count and looking very pale when I found him but after some basic tests in the ambulance and a lot of questioning and form filling, I was able to take him home.

I tell you what, the smile on his face as he came round in the ambulance was utterly priceless and couldn't fail to make anyone feel happy... :)

I love the innocence of childhood. He was awake and not scared so had a smashing experience. I bet it took a long time for your heart rate to return to normal even though it was sorted without a hospital visit.

Strange happy thought but my mum has bought me a new potato peeler. We should now actually get 99% of potato when peeled as posed to about 30% :)

Thanks for the kind words folks. :)

Yes he's fine now and co-incidentally, we're due to see his consultant tomorrow. Sadly, he's been having more fits than normal over the last few months so he's going to need a third medication (he's already on the highest dose of both the others he has to take). :( It's all a bit worrying as it's almost a trial and error situation we're told so we're just praying that it works and he doesn't have any serious side effects.

Thankfully, he's a strong, happy lad and, despite all his problems, he brings us so much joy and we treasure every day with him.

Well we've all just started to take it in turns to cook each night of the week, and my turn was tuesday, and I had to peel some potato's with a (in my opinion) useless peeler, so she bought me one that I can actually use :D

Jeepers your heart must have been in your mouth Osem, and all the time all he really wanted was to see his Daddy, bless! Seriously though, I hope they can prescribe something that will ensure his fits can be kept under control. That would be one worry less for you and Mrs.:hugs:

Well it's a done deal - a third medication to be commenced after Xmas unless things go pear shaped beforehand. The paediatrician has recommended something that's usually well tolerated by children with only minor side effects (if any) so hopefully he'll be OK and then we can think about reducing his original medication if all goes well. I don't like him having to pop so many pills and potions but it's all a bit 'suck it and see' like really. Fingers, toes and anything else we can cross is being crossed right now.

Anyway, all the best to those of you suffering trying times too - I always try to remember that there are plenty of people far worse off than we are.

It seems to have taken a long time to get to this point but I have just spent the morning doing what I used to think was one of the most boring things in my world, prepping canvases. It feels soooooo good to be getting back to work. :)

Put it into perspective - you will live a life without pain :) A small inconvenience of an operation is well worth it in the great scheme of things :hugs:
