Looking at the coming up, I think Cena is marrying whichever Bella twin he's seeing. Out of interest, I wonder how you would be able to tell the difference between them?

One of them has a crooked nose that points down a bit. That's just about the only way I make them out.

Of course, with Brie having being in a relationship with Daniel Bryan for 2 years you can see how Summerslam is going to be played out...

Dear lord, the 2K14 WrestleMania mode panel or whatever it was called, what a car crash. JR, Flair, alcohol and a live mic don't mix.

Russ 18-08-2013 21:08

Re: WWE (no spoilers for 24 hours)

I watched the final 15 minutes of that. I felt so sorry for JR, he did his best to salvage something from that train wreck. Flair is in major trouble with WWE over it apparently.

Heard so much about this, wish I'd known about this and watched it. Dare say it will be on YouTube soon.

Not looking forward to tonight, it will either end with Cena walking with the title or Orton cashing in on Bryan winning the title. Either way, it will not be Bryan leaving with the title.

Rumours are saying Bryan will turn heel. Hope not as the guy is on fire right now and they've not had enough time to fully exploit it yet.

I hate being right - and yes walls were punched. At least in my mind anyway. That was the 'heelest' Cena has ever been and the ending was predictable to a point....

Hope so. Well, now 24 hours have gone I can vent over SummerSlam. Was cross that Del Rio retained, never rated him as much as Christian. The ending to the Bryan/Cena fight was so hyped online that there was no real shock to it, but Trips working with the McMahon family is a shock.

I'm hoping that NoC will see Bryan get the title back from Orton. He gets an automatic rematch anyway.

As an on-screen thing I've always liked the Funkadactyles and the crowd love them. But watching them on Total Divas, they are SO annoying. Trinity seems slightly more bearable but Arianne.... :banghead:

Got 3 episodes to watch tomorrow, I've got to be in as expecting a delivery.

Think one of the 2 got stopped and done for driving under the influence or something a few months back. If I remember right, I think it was around the time of WM which might be why their match got canned.

Steph addressed that very point the other day - it's a performance, they are 'actors' and just as people don't really believe John Sims is an evil Time Lord, the WWE Universe is able to see the distinction in the storylines.

Re: WWE (no spoilers for 24 hours)

Forgot to vent my frustration at Ziggler getting put with Ryback. No need for it and typical WWE having Ryback squash Ziggler. The same Ryback that in 6 months time will be no different to Kane, Khali and the big show. By that I mean jobbing every other week then having a monster heel turn only to get squashed at the end. Minimal world title runs and so on. I'd rather have one title too. The WHC is utterly pointless in my eyes. It's in every way inferior to the WWE championship now. Seems to be a smaller title on purpose to promote potential WWE champions.

Russ 09-09-2013 05:23

He is outspoken and apparently has a knack for criticizing people when they get something wrong in a match with him. I can understand why they'd put him with Ryback for his jobbing spree then as it doesn't really affect him as much as it would having him lose to Santino or similar.

Personally, I'd like to see the Shield get some decent action instead of being the corporation security team dishing out beatings willy nilly.

I have to agree with both yourself and Mark, If you're having the seem feelings I am anyway, His in ring ability is fast disappearing and he's far past it. On Mark's side of it, He gets over with the fans pretty easily.

I get more annoyed at the likes of Hogan and Flair though, jumping ship at any given opportunity for a bit of cash, Hogan especially. We revoked 'Hulkamania' 10 years ago. Flair on the other hand left WWE when his contract expired and moved to TNA. WWE obviously couldn't offer him a huge spotlight anymore and might not have been willing to give him the money he wanted either but there's no way he'd move to TNA without something behind the doors. Then he comes back to WWE for what reason exactly? what use is there for Ric Flair at this given time?

MalteseFalcon 16-09-2013 08:24

Re: WWE (no spoilers for 24 hours)

None. One signing that I would love to see WWE make but have long given up any hope of it ever happening is Sting. Surely at some point he has to be given a HoF induction spot. He was one of the best stars in WCW and I think a short term 2 or 3 month contract with WWE would be great.

Turn up on RAW, call out Taker, be inducted into HoF and then lose to Taker at WM to keep the streak going.

For comedy 'holiday camp' style wrestling there's none better than Santino but I'd slit my own wrists with a chainsaw if they ever put either top strap on him.

Apparently the Cobra sleeve sells by the bucket-load at live events and I reckon if it wasn't for that he'd be facing the chop pretty soon.

Re: WWE (no spoilers for 24 hours)

They've got to already know tbh. The fan reaction seems to be poor. Vince plays a better heel than triple H. It'd have come off better with Vince.

Also seems like forever since we had some epic tag matches. Going back to those matches with Bubba Ray, D-von. The Hardy's and Edge and Christian. I remember them being involved in the first PPV I ever got to stay up and watch. The rest had been taped or bought on VHS! Survivor Series 2001 I think. Hardy's and Dudleyz in a cage match. Jeff blows it by attempting a Swanton from the top of the cage and landing on an empty table. Only other matches I remember are the battle royal won by Test i believe and the main event being the traditional survivor series elimination match with the winner takes all stipulation. The end of the invasion angle basically. Back then select PPVs were on channel 4!

Russ 08-10-2013 16:03

Re: WWE (no spoilers for 24 hours)

Without any decent competition WWE doesn't feel the need to raise the bar very high. It's no secret why the storylines were so good during the Monday Night Wars.

MalteseFalcon 08-10-2013 19:38

Re: WWE (no spoilers for 24 hours)

The ONLY good thing for me about this storyline atm, is seeing Stephanie on screen more. Still my number 1 Diva of all time. Forget Trish or Lita.

---------- Post added at 19:38 ---------- Previous post was at 19:35 ----------

And I agree, Triple H is not working as a heel boss. However, I think Vince is on the verge of passing control over to his daughter and son in law.

Yes, those tag matches were excellent. They need another decent match on RAW like Michaels v Cena the day after WM 23. An hour they went for, still in my top 10 matches on RAW.

Russ 08-10-2013 19:56

Re: WWE (no spoilers for 24 hours)

It's not that I think HHH's role isn't working (I actually think it is - he's better suited as a heel), it's just this whole 'disgruntled employee being forced to do as he's told or be sacked' thing has been done to death and Big Show did exactly the same with John Laurenitis a few years back during which storyline he was given a (kayfabe) iron-clad contract. So why are Stephanie and HHH threatening to sack him? Illogical.

Daniel Bryan is massive over right now so why are they focussing on the Rhodes family? Cody and Dustin are good characters but in the middle of a monster push for Bryan they seem to side-step that storyline.

Miz and Ziggler, neither are working as faces. I get that WWE wants to give them time to develop and Miz is apparently really good for media duties but he's a much better heel.

Los Matadores...why? They're just Primo and Epico in pink masks. Both men although talented were jobbers under their own names and this new team will go the same way.

Antonio Cesaro is getting over as a face due to his Giant Swing so why keep him in a heel team? And why is a 'foreigner' being allowed in a right-wing pro-American team?

Lots of other things just don't make sense and I just get the feeling that TNA is just so far behind WWE right now (and rightly so) that Vince really doesn't seem to feel any need to get people working hard.

MalteseFalcon 08-10-2013 21:38

Strong rumours TNA is for sale. This could only go one way imo.

I'd have Angle back any day but I don't watch it enough to recognise anyone else's talent. Regarding last night's PPV 3/5 I enjoyed the tag match. Cena match was simple enough, CM Punk match wasn't all that great but that's Rybacks fault. Bryan and Orton wasn't too special either but again I'd blame the age of boreton for that. Typical crap ending as expected.

Best match: Tag title match.

Worst match: Los Matadores. I guess you could throw Khali and Fandango in there too. Pretty poor filler.

Seems Vince McMahon is the front runner to take over the company. Would be the second company that Sting has worked for to be run out of business by the WWF (as it was in 2001) and then WWE.

That tag filler was only put in because Curtis Axel hurt himself and had to pull out of the PPV.

Survivor series tag match was blatantly made clear after the Wyatt family random attacks. A few more attacks over the coming weeks and you'll have your five faces.

It appears Hogan is back with WWE. God help us.

Raw is taped tonight, avoid the usual places likely to hold spoilers.

Anyone here go/going to it? not sure what time it tapes.

Re: Hogan, that means that WWE is going to go even worse now.

Re: RAW being taped early, I never look at the spoilers anyway for RAW or even SD, but I daresay it will be more of the same crap. Triple H and Orton screwing Big Show and D Bry, Cena being Superman again and loads of skits which make me prefer having teeth pulled out with nothing to deaden the pain.

Just watched last night's Total Divas. I know it's scripted but is Nikki Bella really that thick?!

Does anyone here ever watch the Kayfabe stuff?

I think they are fantastic. I really enjoy the Timeline shows and their Wrestling's Most collection.

I can't believe either Cena or Orton were in that match last night. They could have given someone a huge push with a win last night. CM Punk gets my backing though. Kinda like Jericho won instead of the Rock or Austin.

Job Ziggler. I give up.

Daniel Bryan is the most over I've seen someone since the early days of Cena.

There was nothing stand-out in last night's show, it was basically an expensive episode of Raw without storyline cut-aways. Funnily enough the only part I found entertaining was the finish of the main event, I liked the way that played out, using the ropes etc.

Daniel Bryan WHC vs CM Punk WWE woulda been my choice. I just feel they had it exciting for 5 seconds when Bryan was WWE champ then we're suddenly back to square one.

I tend to be pretty unpopular when I say this but I'm of the opinion that neither man should ever get higher than Intercontinental Champion.

Don't get me wrong they're both more talented than the majority of the rest of the roster and they got to WWE the right way ie were trained by good people and worked their way up from the Indys. But being the 'top guy' in the company mean representing it and.....IMO small guys just don't cut it for me. Obviously I'm not saying small guys can't do it (ie HBK) but for example do you remember much from Jericho's run as either champ or Undisputed?

Think of it like this: it's the MTV Music Awards or whatever, 50 Cent is due to win an award, WWE Champion Daniel Bryan is there to present the accolade. All is well until they're standing next to each other on the stage and 50 looks about 6 inches taller and about 5 stone more muscular than the man supposedly better than Kane, Mark Henry, Undertaker, Jack Swagger, Khali (OK bad example there) etc.
