CMJ and Tony Greig both dead within days of eachother.

I recall watching Greig as a lad and much admired his fighting spirit even though his words sometimes came back to haunt him. I was at the 1976 Oval test match during which Greig was England captain and Michael Holding was truly supreme as he perfected the art of 'whispering death'...

As for CMJ, well he was one of the true voices of test match cricket in the UK and will be sorely missed by those who love the use of language he brought to the commentary.

RIP both.

I went to the oval last summer for the England v South Africa test and sat in the Peter May stand which is where the cheapest seats are and it was ok. I generally find with cricket it doesn't really matter where you sit, but that might just be me plus the amount of alcohol i consumed i could have been sitting anywhere and enjoyed it. I sat in the same stand for a one day game against India also.

I'm going to Lords this summer to the NZ test as i didn't manage to get Ashes tickets. I think i'm sitting in the first row for that, which will be interesting!

Hosts complete series whitewash.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/cricket/21916017

Quote:

India completed a 4-0 series whitewash over Australia after winning the fourth Test in Delhi by six wickets.

The hosts bowled Australia out for 164 as Ravindra Jadeja took five wickets, allowing Cheteshwar Pujara to help seal the win with an unbeaten 82.

Spinner Nathan Lyon helped Australia fight back earlier in the day, limiting India to 272 with a career-best 7-94.

But only Peter Siddle's 50 offered any resistance and India reached the 155-run target, losing four wickets.

Lyon continued his good form with the wickets of Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli in India's second innings to take his total to nine for the Test.

But the defeat ended a miserable series for the tourists, who dropped four of their players for the third Test, including vice-captain Shane Watson for a breach of team discipline.

It is also the first time that Australia have lost a series 4-0 since a defeat by South Africa in 1970.
