The flip case on my 4s is from Proporta, aluminium front and back, covered in lightly padded leather. Fantastic quality and makes it feel pretty damn safe! Excellent after-sales service too. The stitching came out of my first one and I'd lost the paperwork for it and it was a present from someone I couldn't get the details from but I called them up and they accepted it no problem and even replaced it with the next model up.

Pricey though - £30 ish - but it's very good quality and the service was second to none.

Yeah, I've seen the 5 version on the website. I think I had a Proporta case for my old XDA thingy.

I quite like the shell case I've got from Proporta. Basic, but does what I want (cover the sides and back). May have a look at the leather thing later on.

I almost got a shell case + front cover (book style thing) by Tech21 (I think), but read a review saying it caused scratches.

I bought an Otterbox Defender for the iPhone 3G and iPhone 4 - both gave extremely good protection, specially when I accidentally dropped one in water...

I used to have an Otterbox Defender for my iPhone 4. Excellent protection, but it added too much bulk. I also found that the built-in screen protector membrane thing got quite dirty.

I'm sure there are already people here who use it, but in case there are some who don't...

Any non-O2 iPhone users miss or want Visual Voicemail? (probably the only good thing about having an iPhone on O2!)

Then try HulloMail:

HulloMail (free)

HulloMail (£5.99 sub. for extra features)

3rd party visual voicemail app. Works with Three, Orange, T-Mobile, Vodafone, O2, Talk Mobile, Giff Gaff, and O2 Simplicity if you're on a contract, and works with Three, Giff Gaff, and Talk Mobile for PAYG.

Uses conditional call forwarding (that should come out of your inclusive minutes) for voicemail instead of your network's voicemail store. The app then receives push notifications of new voicemail and lists them just like proper visual voicemail... but with other features such as having the voicemail emailed to you, plus you get more control over it all. You can also access it the old way via a voice call if you want, or you can be secure and disable that completely. You can also use the web portal to access your voicemail if you want, or again you can disable that completely.

As I ditched O2 for Three, I've lost visual voicemail... I set this up last night, and have been very impressed so far :)

It's unreal how VV isn't implemented on all carriers for all platforms by now, though I'm sure Orange has been loving its 35p a minute Voicemail line.

I've just got the IPhone5. :)

Now I want to give my IPhone4 to a family member and I'm going to get it unlocked from O2 this week.
The person I'm giving it to currently has a phone on monthly contract with Orange.
Does anyoneknow if it is easy to just switch over a contract to the IPhone and get a smaller Sim for it?

Thanks.

Re: The iPhone thread

Get a SIM cutter from Amazon or such then you don't have to tell the network anything.

Seconded, just get a cheap cutter, even the new Galaxy S3 and Note 2 take the micro sim, it looks like most new phones in the future will be micro sim.
