Now the question how comes the UK is always so panicky when it snows its not like its a foot of snow or anything like that that you can find on the mainland

I'm going to Leeds tomorrow - customer just off the M1 / J46...I'm 200 miles away down south...

What's the weather / roads like up there now?

I see that Church Fenton (12 miles away) have reported 6 inches of snow up there!

We have had a fair amount here in sunny Cambridge...
I don't make a habit of taking pictures of wheelie bins :)
Just to give an idea how much fell during the night

They knew the snow was coming yet most roads were not gritted/salted which was terrible getting home last night.

Same here Hal. Just walked to my local sainsburys and the main road still had snow on it typical **** poor planning and poor execution

so is that is for the snow or is there more on the way today ?

I live in Harlow and snow is forcast for tomorrow

Wonder if I'll see the same as I did last year. Workmen at Lewisham Station on the tracks pouring water on the points in sub zero temperatures.

Only very fine snow but with the wind it soon piled up mate. ;)

The neighbours where out this morning clearing all paths and a route up the hill but put the snow in front of some cars including mine so I spent an hour clearing my car of snow 6", and a bit in front so I can get my car out and reverse up the hill.

Better now than 7am tomorrow morning.

It's because most people don't have a clue how to drive in the snow. So they wheel spin, and turn it to ice. Then the roads turn into a death trap.

This morning was ok, because there was very little traffic on the road. So the snow had time to melt rather than being packed down hard.

I gave myself an hour and a half to get to work this morning, but it only took half an hour, including a stop at the garage.
