I don't wear a kilt, I'm from Glasgow - when I was a lad, only Sassenachs and choochters wore skirts, sorry, kilts. ;)

That whole situation shows how the Premier League (and to some extent, the Football League) has lost touch with reality. I don't have any objections to them spending that much *if* they have enough money, after all, it's their money, who am I to question what they spend it on? Where I think they need to get back in touch with realtiy is that a lot of the clubs (particularly the premier league ones) are apparantly heavily in debt. To the tune of 100s of millions.

Anyhow, back on topic. My happy thought is I popped into an HMV this afternoon. Walked out with the two Christopher Nolan Batman movies on Blu Ray for £20, and Micheal Caine's Billion Dollar Brain (part of the Harry Palmer series) on DVD for £7.

Depends what you want really - but the chances of you getting anything for that date in a really nice place are going to be a bit remote.

I always like the the Ivy - (that list makes it seem like I'm always out at fancy places, but I'm not, I just go out so rarely they all stick in my mind :) )

Just booked this place for our Valentine's Day meal - Portrait Restaurant, National Portrait Gallery.

Thanks to everyone for their help - much appreciated.

Looks like a nice menu and quite reasonable considering the restaurant's location. I hope you both have a beautiful meal.

Don't be too proud to get your money's worth and ask for a doggie bag... :D

Enjoy!
