Yes, it might make them think twice but not in a way we like! A strange choice of words.

What’s the way we wouldn’t like?

Removing the leaders of a regime close to them to give them control over that country.

I've just read that it costs $40 just to enter the States, never mind all the info you have to hand over.

I could never afford an American holiday anyway, though I've long wanted to go. Now, though, I have just three words for Trump. The first I can't post on this forum (quite right, too), but the second and third are 'you sideways'. You get the idea, I'm sure.

I doubt I'm alone. Let's see what happens to their tourist industry.

I haven't had a holiday since '16. I might go somewhere this year, my tiredness notwithstanding. I'll have to do research first, though. The USA isn't the only tourist-unfriendly country. The EU countries which don't want tourists - well, I can see their point in some cases, but their position makes no sense whatsoever when you consider their economies depend on tourism.

How friendly is Dubrovnik these days? Back in '86 the Yugoslavs (as they were then) were friendly. Doing my bit for their economy, I bought a hand-carved chess set. I'd love to visit (more likely, given my financial situation, the most I can afford to do is pass by) Casino Royale. Not to gamble, I'm not that stupid, just to see it.

(As part of a UFO tale on Fanfic.net, "Shaken And Stirred", I wrote a story inspired by Bond - which included a petite, slightly top-heavy, randy, blonde, bisexual Croatian receptionist!)

I hope I can get something to eat, though - the local food mostly didn't agree with me (plus too much garlic and thin soup) and I lost nearly a stone on that holiday. On getting home I virtually inhaled a bowl of soup. :p:

Dubrovnik was fine when we holidayed there for a week, back in 2019.

Dubrovnik (and Montenegro) were fine in July ‘22 when we had a week there - cuisine was fairly "international" (lots of varied restaurants in the Old Town), but not cheap (not Central London prices, but not cheap).

We’ll probably go back again.

Montenegro was a lot cheaper than Dubrovnik when we went 10 years ago. Portugal is one of the cheaper places in Europe to go at the moment. Yes, you can head east to Bulgaria and Romania but the flights are longer and more expensive.

Yeah we went into Montenegro & Serbia for a day trip while we were in Croatia. Both were quite cheap then.

Well, there goes NATO - looks like Putin’s plan is working…

US discussing options to acquire Greenland, including use of military - White House

President Donald Trump has been discussing "a range of options" to acquire Greenland, including use of the US military, the White House said.

In a statement, the White House told the BBC that Trump had made clear that acquiring Greenland was a "national security priority".

"The president and his team are discussing a range of options to pursue this important foreign policy goal, and of course, utilizing the US military is always an option at the Commander-in-Chief's disposal," the White House said.

Nope not necessarily Putin. I just believe I will never own this world and treat people the same way.

It would be something extraordinary if the whole of America was made exactly that, one big Americana, high on legal marijuana.

At this rate we'll be joining Russia and China against the US. :erm:

Well, the USA has a whole load of military bases here in the UK. So, an army in waiting - if that's what one believes would happen.
