Ive had a few updates and downloads over the past few days.

It asks you to restart/reboot, and then as a result no longer works. That's been my(and others) experience since March.

Hopefully they've finally sorted out that issue. Seems a relatively minor issue of what should happen after the updates have been applied.

hit the windows key and type "windows update". The first search result is advanced windows update options. Select that and it will take you to the main window update tab. In the main windows you will see current updates that are available like Downquark has illustrated above. There are several tabs on the left hand side and one of them in "view history". If you click on it you can see all the updates it has download and choose to roll them back if you are having problems.

It use have only been a minor change, usually takes hours for full update but this one completed in less than 30 minutes from start to finish.

The 'H2' updates are done differently now.

In fact, if you're already running version 2004 you have most of the bits for 20H2 already installed as part of the monthly cumulative updates. All that's needed is for Microsoft to send an update that throws the right registry switches to turn on the new features.

Wonder if you can skip through 2004? I have some machines I didn't bother updating to that.

From that article earlier:

It's important to note that, if you are using PCs that are managed by companies that have opted-in to only accept updates from the annual H2 cycle, then you won't have the 20H2 bits pre-installed, and any update will require a full OS update rather than the quicker process for existing 2004 users
Not sure what that means for a 'Home' version as I always update my own computer so haven't experienced as skip install.

Re: [Update] Windows 10 Discussion

Just checked one machine and yes it lets you go straight to 20H2 so I started that going.

Thing is it took microsoft half a year to fix all the issues with H1 so it wouldn't surprise me if most people skip.

After an initial failed update to 20H2 repeated again tonight.
For anyone waiting to update it was like being on the old dialup, 200Mb max but the download was on a dribble feed speed in kbps.
[Will try and see how things work out]

Raging Bull ive done the same,, Attempt one failed and ive retried and it worked but was slow it took about an hour and 15 mins from start to finish.
