As on hes visit it was 82 which was acceptable but most days it way below on one day it was 30 for eight hours

Interesting that. I didn't start to get an unreliable connection until speed doubling was complete in my area. Still awaiting 120Mb. I guess the problems are not local, more to do with UBRs and major routes.

I now have 2 upstream channels in Cambridge CB24.

It has reduced my maximum latency, however the minimum isn't as smooth so hopefully that won't be a problem.

I do not believe this. Update was supposed to be last June, slipped to next feb-Mar, was pulled forward to December this year (yey!) and now, all of a sudden, and once we were in December, it's slipped to April-June '13 (argh!). ****-ups and brewerys spring to mind!

These things are never set in stone. They do state subject to change.

also mind the language please.

Never set in stone is right. How it can change 6 months within weeks of it being due is anyone's guess. Shear incompetence.

Not incompetence at all. There are many things that can happen. A cable network is a very complex thing.

Consistent and repeated failures of the same type over and over again indicate incompetence.

It's somebody's job to know how long it will take to upgrade a very complex thing and they're doing it wrong.

Which it is the job of Britain's largest cable company to manage and which they singularly fail to do. As already said this is the latest in a long line of botched roll outs.

To be clear it is not that this takes some time that I am disappointed by. I understand that some of the Virgin network is held together by string and takes a lot of work to fix. It is that they consistently promise and fail to deliver. They want to appear in the market as a technological leader - always the first with new tech and highest speeds - but they are incapable of seeing that vision through. That is either incompetence or wilful misrepresentation. Take your pick!

Seems to me VM are stringing you along in an effort to stop you leaving for a provider who can offer a better deal now instead of the latter part of next year.

Have to agree.

My fault was assigned a fault number and I was told it would be a month away before it was fixed. Every month they moved the fix date back a month until this month when they changed the fix date to April 2013. Same fault number from the start, same problem, same fix.

So they either were deceitful with the dates to retain me as a customer or they are incompetent.

even when the say its fixed my experience says more often than not there is zilch affect on the connection.

The bristol congestion thread on VM's own forums show people been told they fixed and they have no visible improvement.
