The way to get this changed is not to purchase the HD in the first place. If loads of people pay per box, VM will keep doing it. If no one bothers with it, it'll get scrapped soon enough.

Lets start a campaign:

"Say no to per box charging, don't sign up for HD!"

Perhaps this should leave this thread now as we know what's happening??

In my house that ends up £21.00 extra a month - not a chance.

I really can't see many people taking up this offer. What a botch job!!!

It's a joke, Sky Sports/Movies are already expensive enough already, but to charge £7 extra (per box) is ludicrous.

We already pay a premium for it and now we have to pay a premuim premuim, if we want HD which is a joke.

Not to state the obvious, but sky have now got VM between a rock and a hard place. They have allowed VM to have some sports channels in HD insisting that they have to make a charge in line with there own policy hence £7 charge per box. VM in there haste agreed to get more HD channels, Sky know full well that the avid sports fan who is able to pay the extra or is prepared to pay will find better value in sky's own £10 charge for all of there sports channels not just two.

I moved down from the VIP pack last month for a while but even when I start it again, there isn't a chance I'll be signing up for the extra HD. I don't watch the films so yes, it would be £7 for just two channels and if I only watch 2 matches a month....that's £3.50 per match extra. I don't think so.

But, as others have said...if you consider the extra £7 a charge for all HD then it does compare favourably to Skys charge of £10 per month.

I don't think you should blame Virgin though, I am sure they are either not making much on this or else it was insisted upon by Sky when the agreement was made. I am sure that Virgin are fully aware that their 'HD is Free' doesn't quite ring true anymore and has now compromised their advertising strap line.
