HD History, National Geographic Wild, CI, Sky News, Sky Sports News, Disney. SD Fashion TV. To these we can add from other postings: HD Sky Sports 3,4,F1, SD Sky 1+1 That leaves another nine channels unaccounted for. Maybe five local TV, and four others. |

A) I do not have an real number as one of the channels on my list say 'Local TV'. B) Some of the channels on my list broadcast in UPC Ireland and Smallworld areas right now. |

I think that any that thought it financially viable are already on the system, so don't think it will make any difference. If they are still showing that static caption, they will run into problems with Sky. After a defined period of time, in order to maintain the integrity of the EPG, any channel not producing sound and moving pictures will be removed from the EPG. I expect Sky to be on the ball with this one as there will be a need for SD EPG slots for their forthcoming venture with ITV. |
Re: Coming soon to Virgin TV 2014
All fun speculation. But I wonder can some of these rumoured channels be attributed to:
Commonwealth games feeds. World Cup feeds (3D or even 4K). I understand the hardware limitations that preclude the latter. But maybe for pubs/cinemas? |

I was merely asking whether people thought any of those suggestions stand up? For instance. I'm not particularly interested in it, but given the extra streams VM have given to the recent Olympics (all flavours). I'm surprised to see how little publicity has been given to their plans to broadcast the Commonwealth Games particularly as they are a main sponsor. Or have I missed something? |
