Of course there'll be those who prefer to pick out the good bits and ignore the anti-democratic & nanny state aspects. To me, the nanny state aspects and appeasement of France put the legislation beyond the pale; the unions would have negotiated much of the good stuff (e.g. 4 weeks' paid holidays) into UK law. We didn't need legislation that really suited France. |
