Still, Liverpool were the better team on the day. Not like a few weeks ago though.... Tell me, where are you guys in the league again? |

Re: [Merged] The Football Thread 2005/2006 Season
Has anyone else noticed how the crowds for the last round of the FA cup have been a little disappointing ? Low crowds at Bolton, and 12,000 below capacity at Newcastle, and at Villa park (apart from the City fans) it was like spot the villa fan. It's the last 16 after all, but it looks like supporters are not as enthusiastic about the FA cup as perhaps they should be.

Tottenham brought up Sol, so it's natural to
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/foot...ur/4729342.stm But it is untrue that Sol is the man here http://www.newsoftheworld.co.uk/stor...ws/news2.shtml because http://x4.putfile.com/2/4912122512.gif |
Re: [Merged] The Football Thread 2005/2006 Season
Any Utd fans know if there is any truth in this, or is this just another player wanting a new contract and a pay rise with his current club ?

Re: [Merged] The Football Thread 2005/2006 Season
just heard it as rumours so far but think he is way below the quality of United and abit of an animal too.. Also i thought his name was Aldo and not Pedro as stated on the BBC link
would be nice if we were being linked to a new keeper in other news Wembley won't be ready in time .. might not even be ready for the Stones concert in the summer and I got tickets for that :-( |
Re: [Merged] The Football Thread 2005/2006 Season
Well, just in case BB keeps his head down, I have to say that even though Real Madrid played like a Sunday League side, Arsenal did play very well. :)

Re: [Merged] The Football Thread 2005/2006 Season
was totally unimpressed with Reyes and Lehman last night.. Reyes pretended to be injured when nothing had happened to him and then managed to roll back onto the pitch to stop play.. he got a booking but should be banned for a game.. Lehman pretended to hurt his hand when he wasn't even touched either
that behavour has no place on a football pitch i'm sure we will see more of the same during tonights match with Chelsea and Barca |
Re: [Merged] The Football Thread 2005/2006 Season
Yeah real were poor but I think another factor is spanish football suits arsenal it is less physical and more open game and that is arsenal's style.

Re: [Merged] The Football Thread 2005/2006 Season
Plus Lumberg found a bit of form at last, Flamini was solid in his defensive duties and Senderos only made a couple of mistakes..... I still think they might regret only scoring the one when Real come to Highbury. I can see Real scoring a couple in 2 weeks

Re: [Merged] The Football Thread 2005/2006 Season
The boast that Arsenal are the first English side to beat Real Madrid at the Bernabau is untrue.:)
A small local Lancashire side, Nelson FC beat Real Madrid 4-2 there in 1922/3  Edited because I am a bozo :D |
