That's why I won't be going the win 10 route.

Me neither. The last W7 update broke the stretch option for the desktop background in the control panel.

I've never really had any problem with Windows 10, on the occasion Windows has gone tits up it was right after installing an update which left me not able to boot.

Which explains a problem that you never really had. I stopped at windows 7 IMHO it was the best they eventually came out with. XP was good W7 better. Anything after that is carp!

I loved Windows 7 but Windows 10 runs better than 7 did, i am not saying 7 or 10 had any real issues but 10 just performed better on my PCs, i much prefer the Windows 7 theme though.

The problem with windows 10 Is has always been the M\S Not fully checking updates the latest one installed today was a nightmare siezed up the desktop and stopped firefox running . took nearly an hour to sort that out.
Windows XP and 7 Here in use as well amount of threats detected has almost vanished
so M\S Panic measure not to use EMAIL and WWW On WIN7 this week usual Rubbish.
my XP Dell runs a programme that 7 or 10 Will not so its in daily use. The Antivirus is updated as is Firewall software .
i spend more time Sorting M\S W10 out than i want to so M\S get it Right

I was one of those that stayed with win7 almost to the end, hated the thought of going to win 10. But as I use Oculus a lot I was forced to update it begrudgingly. But I have to admit I worried over nothing. I actually don't mind 10 at all. It's not that much different to 7 and things are running better than before.

I'd like it to patch like Linux does and doesn't need reboots at all except to load new versions.
The worse part of Windows updates is when you shutdown at work and it says updating don't turn off PC for you don't know how long.

It's 2 major updates per year, one of which is a minor patch on the previous update. So realistically it's one major update per year.

Unless you count monthly patches, in which case good luck keeping your system secure without them.

Is the update showing up in the Windows update area or are you trying to update another way? The May 2020 update is being issued in a more staggered way than usual this time. https://www.zdnet.com/article/how-to...y-2020-update/
