Re: sky sports red button

PS. Im no footy fan so how many Premiership matches are on Today? The reason I ask is that Football first has 4 1:30 minute programmes on SS2 tonight. Am i right in thinking that covers most of the matches? And and that we can record them individually? Maybe thats the reaoson no red button as we dont need there to be??? Just a thought!

.
So perhaps thats why no button??!!?!?! As there is, in a sense , no need if we can record each one in turn

I think it is still red button as when I highlight the show on Sky epg and press record it gave 1 match then below it said Match Choice with an option to record the other 2 games.

As far I know there will be a game on the channel with two behind the red button , I'm presuming.

And has been pointed out already cricket is not on the interactive red button list at all for august.:(

But there you go,if the red button icon is not in the bottom right hand corner of the screen no matter how many times you press the red button nothing will happen.!!!!!!

Cricket is my second sport behind Footy but as I support a Championship side the red button for footy doesn't do much for me in that respoect.

However on Saturday is one of the biggest days in the cricketing calendar with the T20 Finals Day.
Now I know by having Sky previously when this day comes along they have not only the usual stats etc but say you come in later in the day you would be able to see highlights from the previous games innings etc.
Seems to me cricket is just not important to the management at Virgin and so therefore not given the treatment it deserves.

l do not think it is as easy as that and l suspect Sky are holding back some of the Cricket red button content for themselves.

Like i said maybe Sky will keep all the stats, highlights, player cam, fan zone etc stuff exclusive for themselves but have given Virgin the "match choice" option only when there is different matches or shows on behind the red button. Better then nothing.

Do we have a quote/statement about what Virgin actually have?

The reason I ask is I seem to remember months and months ago that it was said that Virgin had all the feeds etc coming in from Sky it was just that Virgin had to program the box to deal with the features or whatever.
If that is the case and I don't see why it would be anything else that it's Virgin's fault we don't get to see this.

I think I may have to email the Exec office for an actual reply on this matter as I feel cricket is getting a bum deal here.

If there was an official statement from Virgin saying we can only supply what Sky give us then I would be frustrated that Virgin couldn't sort out a proper deal with Sky instead of the half assed one they have but at least would know where I stood.

A few months ago about two and a half to be precise i emailed the ceos office with the Neil Berkett email address,to my surprise i recieved a phone call from them about the red button issue regarding cricket,at that stage sky had shown two red button cricket matches, that were not available to vms sky sports customers, the lady who phoned was not sure but said she would phone me back which she did during the course of our conversation into why we had not got the two cricket matches from the West Indies v India recent series she said,"we can only show what sky give us" and obviously at that point sky chose not to give the two said cricket matches on the red button.

I suspect the reason VM have seemingly made no official statement is because they know what i do ie VM have a watered down version of sky sports red button, which i suppose sky said to vm take it or leave it,mind you the last bit is only my opinion.

You are welcome to try emailing them and see what they say to you,i will though give the lady who phoned me full marks for her honesty,as it was at that point i knew what we could maybe excpect.:(
