Cue set for Haldon restart.

Cue Card is set to have a similar programme to last season, kicking off with the Haldon Gold Cup at Exeter and culminating in the defence of his Ryanair Chase crown at the Cheltenham Festival.

Connections of the Colin Tizzard-trained seven-year-old are also keen on trying three miles again in the King George VI Chase at Kempton on Boxing Day, in which he was a disappointing fifth to Long Run last Christmas.

Boy bids for Goodwood glory.

Marco Botti expects an instructive afternoon for Sugar Boy's future as he takes on the likes of Melbourne Cup-bound Brown Panther in the Greene King Foundation Stakes at Goodwood.

The colt looked a bright prospect when trained in Ireland by Patrick Prendergast as he defeated Eye Of The Storm and subsequent Derby third Galileo Rock in the Sandown Classic Trial.

Grandeur stamps class at Goodwood

Grandeur bounced back from an unsuccessful trip to America for the Arlington Million to take Listed honours in the Greene King Foundation Stakes at Goodwood.

The Jeremy Noseda-trained four-year-old came from last to first under a well-timed run by Ryan Moore, who was completing a quick double after taking the previous race on Gospel Choir.

Miracle springs Somerville surprise.

http://www.attheraces.info/article.a...e&sub=&day=Fri

Quote:

Miracle Of Medinah caused a 25-1 shock in Newmarket's feature Somerville Tattersall Stakes for trainer Mark Usher and jockey Liam Keniry.

After rattling off a hat-trick in June and July, his progression appeared to have been halted with defeats in the Richmond Stakes at Goodwood and a sales race at York, but he travelled well close to the pace before kicking clear in the dip and grabbing the rail.

Gosden leans towards Turf for Fugue.

John Gosden is set to doubly enter The Fugue at the Breeders' Cup on November 2 with the Clarehaven trainer indicating the Turf race is likely to be her first preference

The Fugue experienced an unlucky passage in last season's Filly & Mare Turf at Santa Anita but most experts expected her to have another crack at that distaffers' prize

Chris in Fillies' Mile shock.

http://www.attheraces.info/article.a...+shock&day=Fri

Quote:

Chriselliam caused a major upset by clinching Group One glory in the Shadwell Fillies' Mile at Newmarket.

The Charlie Hills-trained juvenile lined up having won just one of her previous four starts and although she had gone close to winning a Haydock Listed prize earlier this month, she was a 28-1 shot as she took a huge step up in class.

The mile contest developed into a sprint with two furlongs to run and Rizeena, the only previous Group One winner in the field, came through the pack to strike the front under James Doyle, but Chriselliam came from even further back and was ultimately well on top as she passed the post a length to the good in the hands of Richard Hughes.

Miss perfect for Fabre.

http://www.attheraces.info/article.a...=&sub=&day=Fri

Quote:

It was unusual to see an Andre Fabre runner in Newmarket's Aqlaam Oh So Sharp Stakes but the French maestro was spot-on with his decision-making yet again.

Fabre tends to send horses to Britain only if they hold a winning chance and Miss France (7-2) looked a high-class filly as she swept up the rail under a confident Mickael Barzalona to pinch the Group Three from Lightning Thunder by a head.

Sun Chariot glory for Sky.

http://www.attheraces.info/article.a...e&sub=&day=Sat

Quote:

Sky Lantern returned to the scene of her Classic success and left Newmarket with another Group One prize in the bag after a stylish victory in the Kingdom Of Bahrain Sun Chariot Stakes.

The race was billed as a rematch with Elusive Kate, who beat Richard Hannon's star in the Falmouth Stakes in controversial circumstances, but John Gosden's filly ran way below par after holding every chance and again drifting to the left

Berkshire battles to Lodge success.

http://www.attheraces.info/article.a...e&sub=&day=Sun

Quote:

Berkshire followed up his Royal Ascot win with a hard-fought success in the Juddmonte Royal Lodge Stakes at Newmarket.

Paul Cole's juvenile made a huge impression when swooping from last to first to win the Chesham Stakes and had been off the track since. He was sent off the 11-8 joint-favourite with Mark Johnston's Somewhat, and it was the market leaders who fought out the finish.

After initially travelling well into the dip, Berkshire did not show the explosive acceleration that was evident at Ascot and Somewhat made him pull out all the stops, despite finishing behind him at the Royal meeting. Jim Crowley managed to galvanise Berkshire to win by a neck, with the rank outsider Sir Jack Layden running a massive race in a close-up third.
