Well our resolve vanished when we saw Riley. So I happily introduce our new house-mate. He is only 18 months old but is already 30cms at the shoulder so I suspect he is going to be a very big cat. I'm just hoping that we can convince him that he wont get hit or kicked and that he is safe with us before he wrecks the house.

Now, has anyone one any tips on treating cat bites?

LOL I had forgotten how :erm: interesting a rescue cat can be. :D

What a beautiful cat and he looks so proud. He will be the boss of the house if not already. He wont be long learning that your a very gentle person Jo and will settle in very happy to your family.

He will soon realise that you mean well and are happy to feed him upon request but will probably stay aloof and deign to to be friendly on his own terms with the occasional reminder ( bite ) to remind you who is in charge.;)

He is a handsome boy and looks quite regal.:)

Derek thats just cruel

Jo that cat just looks royal with his head like that, bit of a lion.

With regards to Derek I would really put the taser on him for even mentioning it :p: but then you'll probably get done for causing harm to a police officer so I wouldnt do that.

Thanks for all the posts guys they were all much appreciated. Riley seems to have settled a little, or maybe that's just wishful thinking as I did get another small bite this morning. :D

He already thinks that he is Lord of all he surveys Masque so I dead to think how much of a dictator he will become once he gets a shed load of confidence.

Derek the taser idea does look as though it may work but I really wanted a live cat at the end of this taming period and I fear the RSPCA may take a dim view of my using one.

Doc considering the animal population that Derek has had to deal with in the past I am sure that he has considered using a taser at times but use one on Riley ... never. Riley would have him for lunch if he attempted such a thing. https://www.cableforum.co.uk/images/...2013/04/12.gif

One last bit of self indulgence on my part. A photo I managed to take this morning. LOL I'm back to being a boring old cat woman again. https://www.cableforum.co.uk/images/...2011/01/53.gifSorry.

If he bites again you can always use this old cat womans trick

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pn9M4...eature=related

Here she is again offering sound advice on what to do should Derek and his taser come calling

LOL I wouldn't rate my survival chances trying to throw a 3 foot long ball of fluff with claws at each corner and fangs at the sharp end across a table let alone over our house. :D

Now that one is definitely more feasible. :D

Re: The Happy Thought Thread Part 4

Just booked three nights in London mid-February to celebrate our wedding anniversary - stopping at a new hotel, the W at Leicester Square (opening night our first night there).

Taking in a couple of shows (Jersey Boys booked, looking for another one at the moment), and looking for a nice restaurant for the night of the 14th around there - any suggestions from people living in London would be most welcome.

Then just spend a quiet couple of days doing touristy things I don't normally do when I am working in London - London Eye, the DUKW trip, some of the museums, and I am sure my darling wife will want to get some shopping in.....:)

Depends what you want really - but the chances of you getting anything for that date in a really nice place are going to be a bit remote.
