Can't see that happening, this will be a merger that will have 0 impact on most employees until early 06.

How can you say "ONLY" when that's a huge part of an important service? If I need to call my ISP I would expect them to understand the complaint by the words I use, not by whether or not it fits with the script that someone has provided with limited english on.

At least when I call TW tech support I speak to someone who is in the UK and is capable of interpreting whatever script they are given to meet the needs of the conversation. Long may this continue!! :dozey:

Yes i understand that and i for one would do the same if Customer service was overseas. The poster that i quoted has a habit of posting that customer service is offshore as well as tech support even when she knows it not to be true. Or is it OK to post whatever crap you want on here now if it gets it noticed

If Customer service was offshore i for one would change my service provider. It is only part of tech support that is offshore. We still have the boys and girls down in wales as well :tu:

I would like to see all off shoring stopped completely but hey this is the real world and will never happen when companies have share holders.

This merger has been all but a certainty for months now. Everything that both companies have announced about broadband upgrades has been planned with the expectation of a merger going on as well, of that I am sure.

It doesnt really make any difference anyway.

The companies dont compete, no area has ntl and telewest.

Realistically OFCOM Should see this as the best way to stop the monopoly and domination of Sky, BT have been crumbling for years especially since LLU and CPS but Sky are currently the untouchables when it comes to pricing for DTV 'how they feel like it'

Given that that is now a more accurate statement of what is going to happen ... done. :D

And can I be among the first to publicly applaud Frank's foresight in re-branding this site Cable Forum all those months ago. Truly we are the most representative help site on the 'net for all UK cable customers. :)

My two penneth on the subject, I'm sick of the media referring to Telewest and NTL as RIVALS -

GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT - Put brain into gear, before engaging mouth.

Where did I mention customer support in the quote below I just said call centre "Telewest UK call centre".. I Apologise if that is miss-leading when I talk about customer services I always put cs in. I will start to put Tech in for the offshore call centre from now on.
