Wouldn't be the first time it's happened.

Look at how long it took for the Sky Sports Premium HD charge to finally be removed.

I doubt it, the main reason Sky Max is changing back to Sky One is because HBO Max app launches 30 days later.

1st April is also a significant date for Sky because it's the day they implement their price rises for TV and broadband customers.

That's also the date for VM's 2026 price increases as per https://www.uswitch.com/broadband/gu...-customers-do/

Fixed price increase
Contracts starting from 9 January 2025: £3.50 per month price increase on 1 April.
Contracts starting from 2 October 2025: £4 price increase on 1 April.
Inflation price increase
If you signed up to your current contract before 9 January 2025, your 2026 price increase will be 7.7%.

That would be great news but the start date makes me think it's a April Fool...

Re: Virgin TV (2026)

Prices from 1st April (new customers)

Sky bundle
£44 per month

- 300Mb/s fibre broadband
- Ultimate TV (all Sky entertainment channels)
- Netflix Standard with Ads
- Discovery+ Entertainment
- Disney+ Standard with Ads
- HBO Max Basic with Ads
- Hayu*

Includes Stream puck

---

Virgin Media bundle
£32 per month

- 362Mb/s fibre broadband
- Mega TV (all Sky entertainment channels)
- Netflix Standard with Ads

Includes Stream box

---

Sky is £12 more per month, but for that you also get:

- Discovery+ Entertainment (worth £3.99)
- Disney+ Standard with Ads (worth £5.99)
- HBO Max Basic with Ads (worth £4.99)

* Plus, from July:
- Hayu (worth £5.99)

So which service is the best value very much depends on how many of these apps you really want, as the majority of people won't need all of these.
