I entered my details. My fair use amount is 0Mb. As I keep saying I have an unlimited SIM. My Virgin Mobile plan costs £0.00. It is subsumed within the cost of my Oomph package. That nominal £27.00 you suggested I apply doesn't work if there is an "I have Unlimited Data" box to check. Where would a typical punter glean that £27 from anyway? Re: 500mb Question
To be fair I can't see how that can apply to Roughbeast because they have designed it to make it applicable and usable only by customers who have a standalone mobile contract and there is no way roughbeast could use that as a tool to plan in advance. If your sim is part of a bundle then it doesn't have a cost. It is the same as when I tried ringing up years ago to ask them how much my BB costs because I was shopping around comparing prices and they told me they couldn't give me a cost because it is in a bundle with tv and phone and I pay for the bundle which costs £xxx.
I hope this is something they are going to be challenged on anyway because I have just used the calculator out of curiosity to see if putting in the bundle cost could be used as an argument to justify the data limit but if you put in £100/month with a normal 50gb allowance that only gives you 42gb under the FUP which is about 1.5gb/day which is shit. You can't say something is unlimited and then cap people to 1.5gb/day. If I ever got charged for anything I would be straight off to Ofcom and the ASA and say when they send you the contract through and any correspondence the onus is them on make it crystal clear that "the "unlimited" service has a user specific data limit based on monthly rental and your data limit is ....." This is just as bad as back in 2009 when VM advertised unlimited BB but sent customers letter saying they were using it too much. |

I am with roughbeast on this. If you looks at the T&C's it says:

Where is the typical punter going to glean that £27 (Now £32) from? It isn't in any of the upfront literature. If it was that critical it would be in the package headlines. BTW: Thank you General Maximus! |

Re: 500mb Question
I don't think it's Virgin's intention to allow use in the manner roughbeast has so it'll be interesting to see if he is billed (and if he wins the argument).

Given that most of my time abroad has now been accounted for and there is no charge, what catch-up is going to haunt me later? My detailed / itemised bill showed that each item cost £0.00 right up to the 12th August bill refresh date. Also, I got no data warnings from Virgin Mobile. My bill was £0.00. The three days since then have already exceeded your suggested allowanceof £13.75. All items, even ones of 2GB+ on our last day in Greece are shown as £0.00. There is no legal way of changing that! It has been declared. This is not a case of some non-EU network operator in Asia or Africa informing Virgin of usage and costs a few months later. The usage and cost have already been declared, i.e. £0.00. |

I expect they’ll try to charge you (but hope they don’t). You’ve got reasonable arguments to make if they didn’t text you to say you’ve hit the threshold. |
