Thanks Muppetman :)

Just finished the last Series of the Wire, so seen them all now

Hope we get Atlantic although not at any price, I can always get the shows I want from HBO via iTunes (at a cost) :(

Still you have to pay for your pleasures in life, don't you

Sky Atlantic will end up on VM defo , the million dollar question is when. I tend to agree with other posters on here about it arriving when Sky switch it to the variety pack.

Explain why it's not on the other digital platforms then, Arthur. Are they all being tight fisted as well?

"Big Love" series 1
"Love Me" never been aired
" Taxi Cab Confessions" never been aired
"In Therapy" about to come to Atlantic

There are more, yes there really are

Carnival was shown years ago on FX

Didn't FX and the BBC both air the Wire?

Wasn't Big Love shown on C4?

At the present moment they are way behind in customer satisfaction, what will happen when this new company called Real Digital comes out, and they arrange with Sky for the atlantic channel, they have alreasy agreed a fee for the Sports service.

Think tight fisted is a bit harsh,But vm are starting to lag.New content is a mass disappointment and vod is slowly getting behind also,Sky`s anytime + is vastly superior already and even bt`s is looking better.Concentraiting on tivo in the long run will be there downfall if they dont improve what they offer to support it then i think next year they will start to see customers jumping ship to other providers.

Wouldn`t say defo matey,When sky offered me another 6 months half price deal the person i spoke to said that it would not be on vm for at least another 12 month maybe never.

They were saying the same about sky basics when we lost them.
The people on the phones know nothing about the negotiations going on and will say anything to get you to sign back up.

Thing is if Cable bend over and take it from behind Sky will always be able to one up them, if they play hardball then in the long run they get better deals. we may have lost the Sky basics for 18 months but they came back at a price that was good for the consumer.

Also a lot has changed since then with regards to peoples viewing habits. Had this been a pre broadband era I would have jumped ship to get access to Atlantic content.

Exactly take what they say with a pinch of salt :D I got a courtesy call after joining Sky to find my thoughts on the service , the guy said he believed that Sky were talking of adding around another 20 HD channels by the end of the year and.possibly another sky sports channel. There has been NHK HD and Disney channel HD (Sept 16th) so 20 seems optimistic.

Sorry but l disagree with you totally on these matters because concentrating on the tivo was a very wise move by Virgin as this is the must have set top box which in the next year will hit Sky's offering for six as it will have plenty of apps and that these apps will have will have a lot of good content on them as we are already seeing at the moment and with the spotify deal just signed as well and with many other deals in the wind as well.
Secondly to say that Sky;s on demand offering is better then Virgins video on demand is well a huge exaggeration that does not stand up.
As for customers jumping ship well l think you are deluding yourself there as well as that will simply not happen and also Virgin will l suspect add quite a few new channels in the second half of this year as well.

Den, not having a pop at you but when I was a regular visitor to this forum you seemed quite negative about virgin's tv output (tended to agree with most of what you said), but having viewed your posts over the past couple of days you seem pretty positive that virgin will soon add a few channels. What do you base this thought on? Or has Hugh bought you off?;)

Only kiddin Hugh:D

My thoughts are based on several bits of information one was on the comments made by Neil Berkett several months ago where he stated they were hoping to have quite a few more HD channels by the end of the year and l see no reason to not believe him on this matter also there are strong rumours that Virgin will add quite a few more SD channels in the coming months as well as have been speculated on this forum and as the old saying goes there is no smoke without fire usually and by the way Hugh could not afford me anyway as l have a huge entourage to pay as well.;):D;)

No and you know as well as l do that there are plenty of apps coming to the tivo as was said by Cindy Rose a little while back and l see no reason not to believe that.

Sounds like what Freesat should have been in the first place.

I know "The Comeback" with Lisa Kudrow was shown exclusively too on VM's HBO OD service, I'm sure there were others such as documentaries too.
