Ok mea culpa on that but then if you cannot pay for a dish what's the point in grumbling about what VM provide?

Media Boy EXCLUSIVE: Five to be rebrand next month.

I have been told today by an Virgin insider that Five will be rebranded as Channel 5 on February 14th.

Five will become Channel 5
Five HD will become Channel 5 HD

Then later in February Demand Five will be rebranded.

Digital Channels Fiver and Five USA will follow in March.

l try to give a constuctive opinion about Virgin, if they were upfront with customers instead of giving vague dates and promises people would be happier about things.

VM turned off their analogue tv network last year which freed up enough space for 300+ SD channels, or 100 sd channels, dozens of HD channels, more vod, more broadband or any other combination VM choose to use. So, I'd take what Electric Sofa say with a pinch of salt.

Electric Sofa haven't even secured enough programming to last a few months yet across their channels (which may never launch anyway) so I don't think its too great a loss if they don't come to cable.

There are a variety of reasons people cannot get Sky -

1) Signal black spot due to trees, tall building etc.
2) Landlord would let a tenant put a dish up.
3) Some councils won't let residents put up a dish i.e. Westminster.
4) Some graded buildings cannot have them.
5) Communal dishes may not be set up for Sky+ HD.

Personally I cannot get Sky because of 1).

I just don't want a Sky dish on my wall, I'd rather stay with VM and have an ugly dish on my house!

If these channels are so vital to these people they will move and make sure they can get sky, yes be nice to have all platforms the same meaning you choose due to price and customer service this is unlikely to ever happen especially tno whilst sky is coronet and platform provider

lol, how on earth did they not know that "five" was a bad name? :P Clearly they didn't do any market research before they rebranded. Do we know what the names for demand five, fiver and five usa will be?

All customers have the right to express their displeasure of any service received.

I think this channel has had more re-brands than any other!

There were no plans to take ITV4+1 off cable. It now appears that ITV have secured a SD EPG slot from somewhere and ITV4+1 will now remain on the Sky EPG (channel 228 I believe).

It's a bit drastic to move just to be able to get a TV channel(s).

Isn't watching your favourite TV channels what Pay TV is all about?

There's no point paying for a service that dosen't provide the channels or content you require.

True, but would you really move house just for a particular TV channel?!?!

Apologies I didn't realise that, I thought they were just talking about moving between providers.

I didn't realise it involved moving house too, I agree it does seem a bit drastic if that is the case.
