A thief is in critical condition after accidentally blowing himself up when he tried to rob an ATM.

CCTV footage shows the man fly backwards from the force of the blast and remain collapsed on the ground.

Another man can then be seen poking around the debris before standing over the fallen man.

He appears to check if he is okay and tugs him a couple of yards away from the destroyed cashpoint.

However, seeing the man unresponsive, he walks away with a bag in his hand.

The fallen man, 51, was taken to hospital on Thursday night following the explosion in Clydebank.

Liverpool boxer Moore’s autobiographical novel about his time in Thai prisons has been made into a major film.
But he is now set to miss its premiere because he was jailed again on Friday.
The 45-year-old, of Dyson Street in Walton, wrote “A Prayer Before Dawn”, which has been transferred to the screen by Hurricane Films and played at the prestigious Cannes Festival...
Yet 45-year-old Moore, who has battled addiction demons for years, is now back behind bars after committing burgling a neighbour’s home - three times on the same day - and stealing items including jewellery.

Quote from South Wales Argus:

A former service station manager who robbed his previous employer for £4,000 in an attempt to halt a spiralling debt crisis has been jailed, after being identified by his voice and the way he walks.

Nathan Jones, of King Henry V Drive, Monmouth, was said to have been “desperate for a solution” to his debt problems after his partner left him, and decided that robbing Raglan Services, where he used to work in the Esso service station as a deputy manager, was the answer.

Wearing a pair of tracksuit bottoms over his face with eye holes cut out to cover his face, and plastic bags on his feet, in an attempt to hide his shoes, he threatened former colleague Leigh Strawford with a metal bar during the raid, but was foiled when she recognised his personal characteristics and the fact he knew exactly where the money was kept.

Quote from The Telegraph:

A burglar who stole more than £4,000 of electrical goods was caught after running into a lamppost and knocking himself out as he fled.

Terry Sawyers, 39, was found unconscious in Fenchurch Street after grabbing four laptops, seven Cannon cameras, and a mobile phone from two offices in London.

Concerned passers-by called the police who rushed to the scene to find Sawyers lying on the pavement next to his haul on March 17.

Sawyers, who has 79 previous convictions, 27 of which are for burglary, swore at officers and called them "pigs" as they drove him to hospital.

Earlier he had broken into the offices of Japanese bank Shinkin International in Moorgate, and stolen lunch vouchers worth £1,000.

He then broke into the offices of Bravo Solutions, also in Moorgate, where he took four laptops and two laptop bags.

Several hours earlier he had stolen a mobile phone from the manager's office of Poundland in Stratford.

Quote from Met Police news:

The guard was robbed of a cash box containing a quantity of cash as he returned from the store towards his van. Keogh - who had his face covered with a pair of pants - approached the guard and grabbed the box from him whilst brandishing a silver handgun. The suspect ran off down an alleyway at the side of the shop and over fences towards the car park.

No shots were fired during the robbery and the guard was not injured.

CCTV footage later recovered showed Keogh in the alleyway prior to robbery arranging the undergarments on his head. The same camera showed him fleeing the scene in the moments after the robbery; however the pants appeared to obscure his view and he walked into a parked van before making off from the scene.

The stolen cash box was recovered a few hours later in the canal at New River Path on Oakthorope Road. It had not been breached and still contained the full amount of stolen cash.
Pants at robbing too. :D

A hopeless burglar twice fell through a roof before getting wedged, breaking his leg and having to be rescued by firefighters.

It did not put him off the first time he fell and he climbed back on to a false roof before plunging down again.

He told police: "Get me out of here" and firefighters had to use specialist cutting equipment to free him, a court heard.

There were even fears that he might "fall deeper into the crevice" between a wall and railings.

Jamie Laws, 29, of The Gatherums, Cleethorpes, was convicted by magistrates in his absence of burglary on June 9 last year.

Quote from The Sun:

A hapless would-be burglar nearly died after getting wedged in a grease vent at a Chinese restaurant for TWO days.

The Alameda County sheriff's office says deputies and firefighters were called to the vacant building in California on Wednesday after someone heard cries for help.

Upon arriving at the abandoned Chinese restaurant, they found the trapped man, 29, covered in oil and grease.

He was stuck deep inside the metal vent, exhausted and dehydrated.

A spokesman for the office praised firefighters for “saving” the man’s life, saying it was unlikely he would have survived another day inside the vent.

A young man walked into a bank, handed a note demanding money to the tellar. When he got the money, he fled on an electric scooter.

Now, not only is an electric scooter a rather slow way to get away (15 MPH top speed, so it's unlikely any chasing police cars would have got out of first gear), but he booked the scooter using a service called "Jump". A service that requires you book scooters via an App (thus giving contact details) and that you pay via the app, this giving the investigators both proof and (courts permitting) your home address.

A bungling burglar’s photo outside the home of footie boss Brendan Rodgers is expected to lead cops straight to his gang.

Detectives are poring over the pic of the balaclava-clad clot, thought to have been taken by a fellow raider.

Footie fans were shocked when the image of his half-obscured face appeared on social media yesterday.

A wedding photo of new Leicester City boss Rodgers, 46, and wife Charlotte, 35, can be seen on an inside wall in the background.

A source told The Sun: “Cops will go over the picture with a fine-tooth comb. For it to have emerged just days after the break-in will raise suspicions over who the masked man is and when the picture was taken.
