Yes this is much tougher durable Arsenal side compared to last season.

Just heard the news about John Terry, best news l have heard in years.

English football shouldn't have players like him playing for the national sides, he might have been cleared by big money lawyers, but the decision by the FA to carry out some sort of charge, meant there must have been other reasons.

There is NO place in football for his sort of behaviour, Chelsea FC may back him, but they should have taken decision about him long before the FA or the courts before this all came up.

Good riddance to bad rubbish.

I have a feeling that if he is found guilty then he will be banned for longer than Suarez was, purely because he is a higher profile player. I agree, good riddance to bad rubbish.

Re: Football Season 2012/2013

To me the FA and Premier League have a duty to ALL football fans that no matter who you are there has to come a point where they say enough is enough.

The clubs don't give a damn and we have seen that, but from grass levels to top flight, you cannot have one rule for one and not another.

Many years ago we didn't have racism in football, but now it is rife and has to be stopped, we have cheats in football, but the authorities must make a stand, when l was a referee we were told to clamp down on this behaviour, but you do and the authorities let it go, thats why l packed the game in.

CARLING CUP

Carlisle 0 Spurs 0 30 minutes gone, cannot believe this score, cannot understand the format that AVB has gone for, l thought that AVB wanted to win cups, I will wake up in a minute.

No disrespect to Carlisle, but the 'powerful' side of Spurs should be wiping the floor of Carlisle.

One eye now open - Vertoghen for Spurs.

Ah more farcical refereeing again tonight. Mulumbu gets off scot free with a potentially career ending tackle on Jordan Henderson, Andre Wisdom is booked for winning the ball and Yesil gets the back of his legs hacked in the box but doesn't go down.... oh sorry forgot the undocumented FA directive that states you have to dive theatrically to get a decision.

About time that shower who are supposed to be in charge were forced to take eye tests. Seen better refereeing at the park on Sunday morning.

Yep it will be interesting to see why the FA only banned him for 4 games. The way I see it Suarez was banned for using racist language, the context was irrelevant. Terry was brought before the FA for using racist language, again regardless of the context. I think he should have been banned for 8 games too. This inconsistency will not give much credibility to the FA.

Oh and I support Chelsea.

Yep the thought crossed my mind. It was the frequency of it. However he never ever denied using the language did he, just said it was not in a racist content.

Would you not say in Terry's case it's worse. He should know taht those words are not acceptable on the pitch - in whatever context he used them? Was he England captain at the time?

Rough figures..

Arsenal annouce 37mil pre tax profits

155mil sitting in the bank which excludes this summers player sales and land/property sale earlier on... adding that takes it to 200+mil.

Operating costs alone put club into loss. player sales put it into plus.

Wages up 20mil giving a grand total of 144mil per year which is 10mil less than Utd spent.

Commerical is still slacking. 5/6mil add on. Main sponsorship renewals due in 2014. There are if I'm not wrong a couple other sponsorships up for renewal in 2013.

In all seriousness I think half the things SAF comes out with are firmly tongue in cheek and with an intention to provoke. The problemm with the other managers is that they mean what they say and come out with things that they have not thought through and seriously believe.

SAF is a great wind up merchant with nothing to prove.

Re: Football Season 2012/2013

that was frustrating so nothing new and the same ol'd it was. firstly I dont understand why Wenger played the same set up vs City away. We're at home and should of had wingers on instead of Ramsey being the extra man in the middle. and the subs again frustrated me even though Ramsey was taken off. Why take off Podolski who can work the flank better and do something in the final third rather than Gervinho. he did score but its much more miss than hit with him. Diaby, its just pathetic, hes one unlucky guy. Giroud now misses 3 chances all similar. bottom line Wenger in my opinion sent out the wrong team and setup and taking off Podolski instead of Gervinho was a mistake even if Wengers trying to give him more chances in his second season and all.

Good tactic by Liverpool. Don't qualify for champions league, save the "not lost" record. At this rate, they could be on for a world record :D

Very true but its still nice to put both hands on a trophy here and there.;)

By that token, you could also say Leeds haven't lost a Champions League game for 11 years which beats Liverpool's record.

Also Blackburn Rovers, who to my knowledge haven't been in the Champions League since the 95/96 season.

Really? I'd have thought Scotland would be further down than that seeing how gash they've been recently.

I have to agree. It should be a celebration, we are still as high as 56th :D

It still means, on the scale of gashness, that there are 55 teams less gash than us.

The future is bright. Wales are gasher than us..... even before Fletcher was included in the squad. :D

end to end stuff in Russia. AC 2 up in Zenit. Two very good goals too. AC's keeper keeps out a close range power drive from Hulk from a free kick right outside the box.

Hulk scores 2-1. HT

2-2 game on...

AC 3-2 up through an o.g. Considering how this games gone thats left a bad taste in my mouth. AC's keeper just kept another decent shot out. As well as hes been that volley should of gone in to level it up. the games kind of bored tbh in a huge part of the second half.

Well soon your team will be playing great man and really they should have no problem beating Olympiakos tonight in my opinion..

it should be another free flowing game. no extra man in midfield! :tu:

Arsenal: Mannone, Jenkinson, Koscielny, Vermaelen, Gibbs, Coquelin, Cazorla, Arteta, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Gervinho, Podolski.
Subs: Shea, Santos, Djourou, Arshavin, Ramsey, Walcott, Giroud.

Colin what do you make of the change Mancinis made at CB?

I am glad he isn't using lescott, I have never been comfortable with him in defence.
Dzeko up front is worth a go, with tevez coming on against tired legs

I hope it is 3-1 Man City. But with City, yoiu can never tell what will happen :D

Arsenal havent got going. the rain fell pretty heavy and both sides become sloppy mispassing and all. 1-1 at HT.

I caught Jef saying its end to end at City

Yes it seems the age old problem of Arsenal's poor defending has still not been solved.:td::(

If i see another city player pass the ball across their own back four (3), I'll jump into the tv and throttle him

Re: Football Season 2012/2013

There are increasing problems building up at City and in my mind a lot of it is down to Mancini's poor tactical grasp of Europe but also down to him not strengthening the side enough in the summer where he buys a 19 year old defender who clearly is not ready but also purchasing Rodwell who has yet to prove he is up to this level.

The problem isn't rodwell, or nasty

The seasoned players are being poor in defence, that includes Kompany

Tonight, silva has passed some lackadesical passes, giving the ball away too easily. There are a yard off the pace. I don't see them as positive, they are too keen on passing sideways or backwards, or worse, passing to opposition

And i blame mancini...playing about with 4 or 3 at back, doesn't help. And tactically, he seems poor. But as I never was keen on him..he doesn't surprise me. i find him too negative at times

Yes l think he is a manager who is flattered just because he has won titles with Inter Milan and City as tactically l have never rated him.
