Well had a very busy day with virgin, spoke to about 5-6 different people, all came to the same conclusion that i have been paying to much.

That is where the help ended, all i can say is virgin need to get their staff up to date on who does what and who knows what.

Have been with virgin since ntl off and on {only went with sky when i moved to a non cable area}

10 weeks to go before i re join sky.

I think like others here, the prices for VIP50 are different depending on who you talk to at CS.

I spoke earlier to a young lady at CS, who assured me that my bill for VIP50 with an additional V+ is currently £110.55 (Presumably £ 100.55 + £10 additional V+)

This would then drop to £ 103.55, with the Tivo box replacing one of the V+ boxes.

So with VIP50 Tivo and 1 additional V+ box shouldn't that be £ 100.55
Think I'm going mad.............

I'm wondering if she has added the £3.00 Tivo sub which should be included for VIP50???

Yes it should be £100.55. It depends what they are doing though. There are new bundle codes for VIP with TiVo to take account of the £3 rather than the £10 V+ charge that was in the old one, however if they are doing it at £103.55 it sounds like they aren't updating the full bundle, just removing a V+ box and adding TiVo on

Just had a look on the website again and it remided me that the girl mentioned about call mobile and call international. I got the impression that these were added on for free.

She also mentioned about the wireless hub and dongle being free.

I've now ripped out any hair I had left!!
Spoke to a young lad and 2/3 managers - hadn't seen the email, and quoted me £ 113.00 a month !! Insisted that I had to pay £ 10.00 for a V+ box on top of TIVO. After several attempts, I read out the email, quoted the forum and blogs - and he finally agreed that the bill would be £ 100.55 + £2.05 C.D. = £ 102.60:cleader::cleader::cleader:

On VIP 50? I think it would be £107.05 because as part of the changes to the bundle for TiVo the V+ HD box drops the £10 monthly fee i.e. becomes the same pricing struture as non-VIP XL tv customers

nothing at all actually im quite happy with the package for now and will not be getting tivo for a few months. Just thought I'd ask as there was a lot of complaining about the package and I thought people were expecting more than the £3 pound waived.

Ben, are there any plans to provide Caller ID for free on VIP packages? Still think it is outrageous VM charges for this when most other companies offer it for free, its like adding £2 to the line rental as most people expect to have it by default.

I read about a rumour back in October that VM were going to provide Caller ID for free (confirmed by some VM staff as well), but don't know what happened to that.

I'm VIP 50, soon to have 1 x Tivo and 1 x existing V+, and I was quoted £105.60. I haven't seen that price mentioned anywhere.

I've just upgraded my package from BB XXL, TV XL and Phone XL + Sky Sports HD to VIP50 and ordered Tivo. I was quoted £100.55 for 1 x Tivo and 1 x existing V+. Just an extra £1.76/ month (+£149 for the box). Install is on 21st April. Thanks VM!

Well I'm happy now any way saved £10 a month with the price changes

I was quoted 107.55 for VIP50 but with two V+ boxes and a tivo though ben says it should be 105.55.

Will wait for the bill and see

Also I always find it best to sort out these problems is to phone 150 and press the one for thinking of leaving us as you always get English and someone that's knows more lol

VIP 50 with TiVo is £100.55. Shouldn't matter whether the extra box is a V+ HD or V HD or V Box.

Ok I have book TiVo for next Wed so will have TiVo and a vhd box and SD box and don't pay by DD but I have been told my monthly fee is 114 a month so is that right?

Don't know if anyone has answered this - I've had a look through this & the Tivo thread but might have missed it.
I'm on VIP50, & was thinking about getting Tivo installed, & the V+ moved to the room that we currently have a standard v box in. In addition to this I was thinking about adding an additional v+ box (1 1tb Tivo & 2 V+).
Am I right in thinking that this should cost around £107 per month + £150 Tivo + £50 for the v+?
Alternatively, come May, would the option of two 500gb Tivos & 1 V+ cost £107 per month + £100 for 2 500gb tivos + £40 install be available, or would the charge for a second Tivo likely be higher & the £3 per month be applied to the second box?

Not sure whether they'd want you to pay 2 install fees or not if you took the latter option. But from what's been said in other threads the Tivo £3 charge is per account so having 2 Tivo's wouldn't incur any additional monthly charges.

I think the first option would cost £107.05 (£6.50 for additional box) so yeah you were accurate enough with your estimation. Should be same monthly price for both options I think.

Thanks for the reply Rjs37. I was under the impression that the installation charge was basically a charge for the visit & if you were having a few changes made you just paid the one charge, could well be wrong though.

I'd have thought it more likely that VM might charge more for a second box than £50 though. 2 x 500gb Tivos and an existing V+ for £140 install seems a much better deal to me than 1 1tb Tivo & 2 V+s for £200 - I'm sure a spanner will be thrown in the works before the 500gb box is released.

1st bit: I'm really not sure what their stance is on installs. But technically speaking with that second option they're installing two boxes. So it's whether they see it like that or if it's just a flat rate for the one visit.

2nd bit: Does seem a bit weird but it's just how it works. Long term they'll be wanting people to go over to Tivo anyway so more installs now means less down the line. I think alot of people in your situation would already have the 2 V+'s so in that situation the install for first option would just be the £150. And then the difference is pretty minimal.

Yes that is correct as you get a V+HD and a V-HD box.

But the customers at the moment who are VIP50 and have got the TIVO for £149 are able to have the TIVO and the V+ for the same price (£100.55 )

I was one of the first people on VIP pack as it was then (cost £86/mo). I cannot afford TIVO right now but that extra download might help my streaming US tv (legally - I have a slingbox over there).

are we really talking a few pence differential? if that is the case then upgrade here I come.

Well there would be a £20 activation fee I believe (install of 50Mbit is currently free for upgrades)

But the price of VIP 50 would definately be £100.55

In addition I have the Asian package and Caller Display.
Have been paying the £3 per month for Tivo since my install in Feb but my April bill has gone up by around £9 and now stands at £123.10.

Checked the bundle online and it comes to £120.10 excl £3 for Tivo.

So is the TiVo charge deffo included in the VIP50 package in which case I need to call CS?

Depends on who you speak to at CS!
Had a long rant - spoke to 3 managers before someone agreed it should be excluded for VIP50
They have to show the charge on your bill, but then should apply a £3 credit to the bill.
My charge for 1 Tivo plus 1 V+HD box i3 £ 100.55 plus £2.05 for caller display.
Keep at 'em until you get the right price

Just got called back and confirmed I should NOT be paying the £3 if on VIP50 and that it will be backdated to Feb when I had TiVo installed. :)

If you have TiVo on VIP 50 it won't has a specific £3 credit for the fee, it's included in the bundle discount

spoke too soon, 2 hours later and Virgin Media have now decided that I am not eligible to the £3 per month discount because I wasn't charged an installation fee when I added TiVo to my existing VIP50 package.

Even though at the time I specifically asked what would happen if the chrage became inclusive at a latter date and was told that the reduction would automatically apply.

Talk about moving the goalposts. As they say no such thing as a free lunch. Anyone else getting the reduction that availed themselve of the initial offer? Not impressed...................

Not getting a credit for the months you've already had Tivo sounds right but not getting the £3 a month moving forward definitely sounds wrong to me.

The 'discount' for TiVo should be included in the VIP 50 bundle discount, rather than as a seperate discount line. The £3 TiVo fee will still show on the bill

Was paying £97, two boxes one STD one V+, XL BB and M phone

Now £94 (12 month), two boxes, one HD one V+, XXL BB and XL phone

Why is it £3 less with much more, is that legal what they were doing before?!

After all my trials and tribulations with the pricing boys & girls at CS, ( See My many posts ) I was pleased that last Tuesday, I finally agreed the package with a young guy called Darren. VIP50 + Tivo + Called Display =
£ 102.60 - result.

The post came this morning with my shiny new contract from the lovely Virgin people - £ 122.60 per month!!

On the verge of cancelling everything and joining the dark side - but decided to have one more go. The nice man from Manilla - he say - rest assured - Your contract should be £ 102.60!! - The printed contract is often wrong!!

I'll await developments, but that final straw is slowly descending

I had the same thing. Was quoted £100.55, when the paper contract came through it said £108.30. Called 150 and spoke to Berni, she said 'no, it definitely is £100.54'. Logged into My Virgin Media and it also says £100.54. I will be checking my Direct Debit when it goes out in May, though. It doesn't inspire confidence, does it?

Well i am a bit more "hopeful" today about sorting my virgin media out, having emailed Mr Berkett to make a complaint.

Spoke to a nice young lady from his department who listened to my complaint, and said that she would go through all my logs with virgin to help solve the problem. Promised to get back to me today if possible, but would probably be monday.

Told her from the off, i dont and never wanted any special disscount, i just wanted to pay the proper price.

it because contract that come out in post don't have your discount on. so when discount come applied it will be correct price. ppl on fone are correct. your next bill will reflect it. i no for a fact my bill is around 110 pound mark as i have extra feature for home fone which cost more. but when i rang yesterday as i was thinking to downgrade broadband the fella on the fone said it would cost me 25 quid more than being on 50 mb to do so.

I recently downgraded from vip, got rid of sports, movies, talk mobile and talk international. Got told on the phone that new charges would be £60.84pm and that's what was shown on the new contract when it arrived.

I believe the contract should show what you are expecting to pay not some random amount that causes un-needed worry and extra calls into the call centres.

This whole VIP saga has gone on long enough, i've been waiting patiently for news of the improvements and still nothing coming from VM. My v+ box has now started to go black for a split second while watching tv or watching a recording, my ntl samsung box is loosing signal every so often too, i haven't reported faults yet as the prospect of getting through to India doesn't inspire confidence and i might just tell them where to get off!!! I'm going to struggle through to next wednesday (day off work) and then call customer services and if i don't get some sort of reasonable offer then i hate to say it but i'll be switching to the darkside for TV.

Forgive my naivety, but I thought that the VIP thing had been sorted out?

I thought the VIP package upgrade was to allow VIP users to upgrade to Tivo for no monthly fee and a discount over regular pricing and also to keep the V+ box for no additional pricing etc.

I think you're right, I don't think they'll improve VIP50 any further. VIP20 is just being run into the ground as far as I can see so people upgrade to VIP50. They may as well just do away with it.
