Off on my holiday tommorow. Looks like I should be able to fly even though there is an on/off strike in France at the moment.
Looking forward to a break. |

Spent all afternoon packing over 400 books into boxes, taking apart the old bookcases, taking them to the tip, assembling two new bookcases, then unpacking the books and putting them on the shelves in alphabetical order - all done.
Now installing MOH Limited Edition - I will be trying out the singleplayer later, after dinner (nice change to eat something that isn't curried....:D). |

It's funny how people can change..
When I used to hang around with a friend who I now stay in contact with on facebook, she was always in to the current cool band and rarely watched TV (preferring more artistic pleasures). Now, she is on facebook and tonight has been quoting lines from Grease (the film) and moaning about the various acts on the X factor.. Also, I was out drinking with a friend on Friday. We ended up meeting with a couple of his cousins. One who I remember meeting, but apparently haven't. The other, I apparently have met, but didn't remember. Anyhow, it turns out the one who I apparently had met but didn't remember went to school with someone else I am friends with. ---------- Post added at 21:56 ---------- Previous post was at 21:55 ---------- Quote:

I went for an eye test at my opticians, earlier this year, I wanted new glasses & it had been 3 years since my last test.
- they referred me to the hospital for extra checks. Anyway, 3 visits to the hospital later, following eye pressure tests, field of vision checks & several photos of my retinas I am now 'discharged' - so no problems :) |

One of our techs had a funny query..
A student came in saying his computer was making an Alarm noise. There are a couple of reasons our PCs will do this (Over temperature warning and Virus infection), so the tech went to investigate. When he investigated, he found a silent PC, and and iPhone sitting by it that was making the noise. The student's iPhone. |

it's like the united nations in my house when the Polish family are over. My Polish is a bit rubbish so it ends up being halfy-halfy with German. My cousins (the younger ones) who can speak English don't speak any German though which confuses things even more.

Re: The Happy Thought Thread Part 4
I recently thought I would try the Aldi online photo service to collate an hardback album of photos I took during my niece's wedding.
I was surprised by a few things, firstly that the software was relatively easy to use for the album layout, secondly that the price was reasonable, thirdly it arrived 3 days after I placed the order - and finally that the album supplied exceeded my expectations for the quality of the presentation. No links, in deference to the forum rules on spamming, the service is not free - but if anyone is looking to collate a photo album for a gift, or memento, in my opinion the Aldi service is worth looking at :) |

Thanks deffy I am certainly feeling that life is worth living again.
It was a relief to be taken seriously and not patted on the head about the headaches being non-related to my original tablets. I am just so relieved that these other tablets are available to me as I was getting very depressed trying to cope with a headache that lasted 24 hours a day. https://www.cableforum.co.uk/images/local/2010/10/4.gif |
Re: The Happy Thought Thread Part 4
It's so good when the pain is sorted and you feel alive again and not browned of from pain. I hope when I visit the pain clinic next week that pain I have will get sorted and they will be able to find what is causing it and treat it and get rid once and for all
|
Re: The Happy Thought Thread Part 4
Fingers crossed for you deffy. I really hope that they can sort it out for you but even if they can just provide you with a way of keeping the pain at manageable proportions it will be an improvement. :hugs:
|
Re: The Happy Thought Thread Part 4
True. I'm on pain killers and they do deaden the pain for a couple of hours and then back to square one again. The day cant come fast enough for the appointment to get it sorted. I hope I will be doing a dance like you next week if it does get sorted :D

Anyone here who is off to the RA Hall later today is in for a huge treat if you're off to see the wonderful Nigel Kennedy and his World Orchestra performing a bit of Vivaldi and some other bits ; All his violinists are wonderful and amazing and young and heck - all of his new orchestra is. - very carefully picked. Skillful manipulation/inspration of the wonderful orchesatra and audience, great tact in handling of people who were losing patience with his late arrival on stage. Great interjection of humour. He really kept the orchestra and audience on their toes once he'd started :D The passsion in the music was... I'd better shut up - I think I may get bad-repped for being boring and too wordy :D Heck I got a fist bump at the end and so did leading violinists(all through) and 2 others sitting front smack in front of hisself - god it was good and so was he. :) Fascinating stuff. |

Surprising what makes me happy these days, I never thought buying a plug would do it, guess it's a sign of approaching old age. |
