If they start shipping this in all Smart TVs for sale those who refuse to pay the TV License tax will have to ensure the device is offline if the bods turn up and they are silly enough to let them in as this could well be enough to get a court date

Britbox is still a stand-alone service outside the UK but in the UK is now a brand used on some of the content on ITV Extra which absorbed the service in this country.

At this rate I'll cancel Prime and use beeTV for all my TV and Movies as it's a simple 1 click app and the streaming quality is really good.

The premium options will always be free of advertisements, I believe. But then, anything can happen these days, even the unthinkable.

Google are going to start rolling out their live tv in the UK within the next quarter, it is already available in the US and has been in trial stage in the UK,
all it really is is just a all in one guide thing for android tv devices (legit ones) which will combine the likes of pluto, xumo, kappang, distro etc into one epg guide.

YouTube launches Primetime Channels in the UK
10 October 2023

YouTube Primetime integrates premium subscription services including Paramount+, so you no longer need to leave the YouTube app.

Primetime Channels launch partners include Paramount+, Hayu and Crime+Investigation Play. DAZN coming soon.
Subscribers will be able to sign up to services through YouTube.
UK becomes third country in the world to get access to Primetime Channels

Users in the UK will be able to pay and watch premium services through YouTube from 17:00 today, 10th October.

At launch, YouTube UK users will be able to access streaming services including Paramount+, Lionsgate+, Hayu, History Play and Crime & Investigation Play. Services from sports streamer DAZN will be launching shortly on the platform.
Why is YouTube integrating other streaming services on its platform?

According to a study by Nielsen, 65% of YouTube viewers in the UK discover TV content through the YouTube recommendation engine. 49% of YouTube viewers in the UK who watch content related to streaming services said that the platform made them want to continue using a paid service. Until now, viewers who had discovered content from a programme shown on a subscription service had to leave YouTube and access a different app to watch. https://rxtvinfo.com/2023/youtube-la...els-in-the-uk/

Not Discovery+ yet although that might more complicated with Live Sports streaming, there was delay in a Amazon Prime adding Discovery+ Premium subscription option.

Why is Pluto TV etc playback so dire, no matter what device i try?

I mean all these extra Virgin stream channels.

I think it is 30i fixed.

At least BBC iPlayer has 50i playback for smooth sports playback.

Apart from the first four episodes, as the person who owns the rights is demanding more money than the BBC is willing to pay.
