Re: Moans and Pet Hates part 8

When I tried to get my emails on my IPad or PC this morning ,there was no internet. Then I received an international call telling me he was from Windwx and I had a problem with my connection, I just hung up the phone as this must be a scam, Still no internet, I went into town and came back in and everything was ok, Can these people really interfere with our internet . Very worrying.

No, they can't.

Just coincidence - worst possible case, they knew there was an outage in your area, and were cold-calling for effect.

Thanks Hugh , That puts my mind at rest. Was it a scam or a genuine call

There was a woman on facebook (Bekah Miles) who suffers from depression and has a tattoo on her thigh that reads "Im Fine" but from her point of view it says "Save Me".

She has had a massive response which has gone global, mostly positive, but a few idiots post crap.

Trolls will be trolls and you will never get rid of them.

Sadly there are some in society who have no understanding of mental or physical illnesses as it can affect anybody at anytime without much notice.

It's a combination of the troll wanting attention (good or bad), and being able to hide behind anonymity when they get called out on it.

You should see some of the abuse a member here receives just for being ill, makes me sick that the perpetrators then go about interacting with others on here as if butter wouldn't melt

If I could get hold of some of them I would shake them a bit. Or ask them how they would feel if it was someone in their family getting that kind of abuse.

Online banking systems. I was just trying to find out what my overdraft limit is so I went to the section where you can look at statements. So I ask it to display a statement and then it just sat there. I noticed at the top next to the website address a little circle with a slash in . Hovering on says that some content has been blocked. Fiddling with this got nowhere.

Eventually I realised what was happening. The statement saying click on this to read selected statement (ugh now the cat is getting in the way just because it wants breakfast !) is right at the bottom of the page and so not visible on the screen.

To cut a long story short and before cat tries some other tactic to get breakfast. If want to know your overdraft limit you have to phone them or go into a branch.

Assuming you have no pending transactions and your account is in credit, it will be the difference between your balance and "Available Funds "

That's how it works on mine. :)

Yes that's correct but I wanted to find out if a cheque had cleared and I wasn't certain what the limit was. However it be nice if they did have it displayable. I assume the reason for that is to make it easier to go overdrawn. :D

I have now looked at my other (Santander) and they do tell you what your overdraft limit is.

Last victim of the Shoreham air show accident is named Graham Mallinson who I used to work with at West Instruments. Draughtsman. Wife and family. So sad.

R.I.P. Graham.:(
