As I said first things I did was turn off the SH firewall, checked the IP and ping responder and did a reboot..

Currently still dead, so unless the IP's been blacklisted??

Theres a bug with that in the SH firmware, some have reported reverting to factory settings sorts it out, but some have done factory reset and still doesnt work

you also need enable respond to ICMP(no need reboot)
you can turn on the firewall

That twice in two days now that I have add packet losses at around the same time - between 5.30-and 6pm

All the lights on the SH go off, its like its doing a reboot.

Re: Think Broadband Ping Monitor Results (POST YOURS)

looks like my modem lost upstream again last night and sat for over 2hrs with no connection before it managed to lock on again (though with different channel ID). seems both channel 41 and 42 that I get swapped between both are having issues.

https://www.cableforum.co.uk/images/...2012/08/10.png

This is starting to happen every other day now and increasing in frequency.

Right now upstream says "T3 Timeouts: 1359" since it managed to lock on again this morning. What could cause the upstream to keep dropping out like it has in the past week? the power levels are within the limits.

If you know anybody else nearby with cable get tem to set up a TBB trace. That will tell you if it's just your connection which is highly unlikely or VM doing some night time network maintenance.

The saga continues! Though there is a fault showing on my virgin media covering all services (except phone) so hopefully that is what they are fixing today (says by 12:30 but we'll see)

I've had upstream power wildly vary from 20 to 55+ all morning and lots of T3/T4 timeouts with the modem constantly searching for upstream channels, every single one it locked onto said "failed" with increasing T3's until it hunted again and got another in a loop, I am guessing the fault is caused by a failing amplifier in the cabinet?

Re: Think Broadband Ping Monitor Results (POST YOURS)

My connections evening performance has been atrocious since last weeks outage. upstream congestion is pretty bad, my superhub will no longer lock onto the main two upstream channels I was seeing (41 or 42) it will sit on them for a brief moment (with no connectivity except for it saying "success" before it changes to channel 43. it's as if 41 and 42 are being advertised to the modem but are not actually working anymore.

The other day:
http://www.thinkbroadband.com/ping/s...25-08-2012.png
Here it is today:
https://www.cableforum.co.uk/images/local/2012/08/4.png
(not sure what the sudden drop off at 1am was last night)

would appear that there is still some kinda fault and whoever fixed the outage last week did a bodge job.

Left the reset till today (had to reboot to confirm a fault this morning, I think someone had chopped the cable in the village doing road works)

Now fully working
