I called the number and it just says don't call us, we'll call you. Slightly worried now I have missed my chance on the offer. what do I do if they haven't called by the time the engineer comes tomorrow??

They should try calling back, If you are that worried you should be able to call 150 and your account should be noted?

As others have said, it is so quiet. Much better than the V+

The hard drive never turns off? Are you serious? That can't be right I don't believe they would be so silly as to not allow it to spin down. Surely? I don't want to pay for yet another HDD to constantly spin away all night, got enough of those in the house in various computers and systems as is. I would put money on it keeping me up at night if it doesn't spin down. I am a very light sleeper and everything at night - as other posters have said - becomes very apparent for me.

Crikey, is there anything right with TIVO at the moment? I have to say reading the threads about it I'm a bit dissapointed it looks to b rushed and lacking in stability and features. Half of the reason to get it feature wise is currently problematic, menu issues, stability issues, can't archive to DVD in the background anymore which was useful to play kids programs via scart to other rooms whilst watching other things, an apparent HDD that won't spin down, no interactive services, no Pay per view stuff. Someone convince me it's worth it?

so I called VM to confirm my installation is definitely going ahead tomorrow morning.
yes it is they said, and we have an offer for you to keep your existing box in another room - for no extra charge - you just have to call this number the CS person said.
So I call the number, and having been put through to four different people, all of whom denied such an offer existed. the last person had such a basic grasp of english I am now worried what exactly they have done and whether they cancelled my installation all together. great customer service! why do VM make it so hard?

Surely this is'nt right. TIVO would be knackered by Christmas. When it's on yes but not in standby?

Similar to Kingfry.
I had to call and change my install date as my online order request dates were changed to an unsuitable date with the acceptance email. Phoned them last Wed, agreed 20th for install, and just to confirm, V+ away, TiVo in. No, the CS said, keep the V+ for a different room. But that will cost an extra £6.50, I said. No, I think we can waive that. But several transfers later, couldn't be confirmed. Please phone us back nearer the install date.
Today, conflicting info: yes you can have it, but only if we phone you as it's a surprise! (but I'll be at work tomorrow, won't be able to receive a phone call.) Then to a different department: no, you can't get that offer, it was only a special to random customers in March.

I don't have a strong need for the extra V+, and so I wouldn't want to pay £6.50 extra, but I would regret missing out if there is the chance to keep it free.

Tivo installed today, V+ moved to a different room... and the V+ features have been disabled on it! If I wanted to lose the V+ functionality on it I'd have said so, moving it to a different room = move it to another room, not cripple the thing.

Will be phoning up first thing tomorrow morning to try to get that sorted.

I would give them a call now as this seems to be disgraceful.

I figure there's more chance of getting through to England in the morning, I really can't be bothered trying to explain the situation to offshore.
