Meanwhile, John Swinney demonstrates his calibre as a statesman by weighing up all the serious privacy and State overreach issues and concluding the ID card scheme is actually wrong because it would force Scots to say they’re British.

It’s putting on almost 2,000 signatures per minute at the moment. By teatime this one will be vast - more than large enough to warrant a mention in news reporting this evening I hope.

I think he is too stupid to have realised it was gonna receive a backlash like this the guy is so out of touch. New Labour tbh has always been out of touch. Socialists which are no they are not any more are meant to be in touch with the working classes but a Knight of the realm with no clue has no place in the labour party

Oh, I don't know about that. It's exactly where I want a clueless person to be.

Trouble is, there are a few clueless idiots too in the other parties which bodes ill for the country.

STarmer needs to order the boats to be pushed back toward France and take the international incident face on.

It will not be long before we have political correction centres like China.

However, in the real world i can see this being the end of Starmer because once the Mp's see the backlash over this they will just get rid of him. Mp's cannot be trusted we all know that, and they will stab anyone in the back to save their own skin.

Probably the same people that want illegal immigration controlled. Making it impossible to work or claim benefits here without the ID is a disincentive to come.

That petition has just hit 2 million. Starmer has truly united the country in a way nobody thought possible.

Yet he wouldn't be bothered if they had to say they were European.

If it's only going to be required when looking for a job, a large number of people won't need or get one. That means it's of limited use.
