Maureen has her sights lowered for Thursday's Japan Racing Association Sceptre Stakes at Doncaster.

Richard Hannon's filly has been kept to Group One company since landing the Fred Darling at Newbury in April and was last seen finishing seventh to Elusive Kate in France.

The veteran handler continued: "Of my other entries, both Stealth Missile and Halljoy are quite useful and well up to Group class.

It took time for the gaps to open for Ihtimal, but she simply took off inside the final furlong and instantly cleared two lengths away from Majeyda.

De Sousa said: "She travelled well through the race and I was quite happy with the position I had. I'm very pleased, I think she's got a bright future."

Bottom-weight Angels Will Fall, trained by Charlie Hills and ridden by Robert Winston, was right on the stands rail and it seemed to help her as she made up the ground and got the nod in a tight photo finish.
