AZ Alkmaar's goalkeeper Esteban Alvarado retaliates against a pitch invader during their Dutch Cup match against Ajax - and is sent off by referee Bas Nijhuis.

The incident prompts Alkmaar's coach Gert Jan Verbeek to take his team off the pitch in protest at the Costa Rican's dismissal, and the game at the Amsterdam Arena is abandoned after only 36 minutes.
It seems one player has had enough of this pitch invader.

Alan Hansen has "unreservedly" apologised for twice using the word "coloured" to describe black footballers on Match of the Day on Wednesday evening when discussing the current John Terry and Luis Suárez racism cases.
Quote:

The BBC said it has received 82 complaints over the use of the word, which caused a backlash on Twitter. The former Tottenham player Rohan Ricketts, now with Shamrock Rovers, tweeted: "Is this Alan Hansen guy taking the f****** ****?? I'm not coloured??? He is part of the problem when using that word. We are BLACK Alan! [sic]."
Quote:

He added: "Alan Hansen is more coloured than a black person. But still we would not call him or another white man coloured." According to the Sun, the former England international Stan Collymore said: "Coloured? What colour would that be? Blue? Green? Orange?"

I have to admit, my jaw did drop when Hansen said coloured on Match of the Day. I was a bit suprised they hadn't been prepped into what you can and can't say, although you shouldn't need prepping to work out there are somethings you cant/shouldn't say.

Why didn't he just say foreign? Its what he meant and its not as if all English born players are white.

This is a country struggling to come to terms with it's previous history of institutional racism, bigotry and prejudice which still exists to some extent. The slightest faux-pas becomes a feeding frenzy for the moral police.

My other half is Straits Chinese and objects to being called Oriental, a common occurrence here but no offence taken eh.

Howard Webb needs to go to specsavers, It was clear handball and Ashley Cole deserves and oscar for diving - everytime he went in for a tackle he fell over and gets a free kick.

1 - 1

More goals to come:D

lets make one thiong clear here, What Terry did was a disgrace against a fellow pro, and if that was Joe Bloggs they would have been suspended or sacked by now.

The Sol Campbell thing was down to the fact he went to Arsenal, and that is bad..

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has condemned Blackburn fans for their treatment of boss Steve Kean.
Quote:

"It doesn't say a lot for society. For goodness sake give the lad a break."

The League Managers' Association said the fans' reactions were "unacceptable".
Quote:

Redknapp described the supporters' behaviour as "horrific".

However, ex-Rovers striker Kevin Gallacher told BBC Sport that Kean's position had become "untenable", while former Home Secretary Jack Straw has added his voice to those calling for Kean to be sacked.
Not a very nice way for fans to treat a fellow human being.:(

Exactly its always the manager who supporters tend to attack but yet its the players on the pitch that are not doing it who should be called into question in my mind.
