Van Persie's performance made me see just how much we missed him. Wenger needs to get better covering defenders, nothing they could do about the first but the second was poor defending.

Gomes' saves were amazing. The one against the free-kick, the one against Campbell's header was the best, and Persie's twist and kick.

Its Gomes :p:

He was immense and helped earn us the 3 points. The media still won't give him a break though.

Fixed! There were great saves. Any other keeper and this game would have been a draw.

Grrr I hate the questions they ask Wenger. They blatantly trying to get a soundbite which will be all over the papers. "Is it Impossible to win the Title"? Because they know it's not impossible just very unlikely but they want to paint him as the deluded fool who thinks he will win the title.

And WHAT ON EARTH is going on on the physio department?! Vermaelen out for 2 - 3 weeks!? Gallas out for the rest of the season, Fabagas out for the rest of the season, Song out for the next few games, Arshavin the same! Joke.

Wenger. New defenders. One to replace Gallas if he leaves (or to replace him full stop) and some cover. Get a new keeper as well. The defending this season has been a joke, we have (imo) the best midfield in the Premiership so we dominate the play but then fail to score and sure enough concede.

Given the impact Persie had I am full of what if considerations. Those last 10 minutes were the best we play for ages but it was too late for the game and his return too late for the season.

Come on Chelsea, we are ready for you, Terry watch out we have Dawson at the back and you won't mess with him.:)

On the plus side, Sol Campbell was immense and Van Persie was brilliant. Oh what could have been!

Actually, Clichy was pretty good too.

Terry will just run him over and sleep with his wife.

Wish I didn't live near North London right now! It's lucky United fans don't live near City fans :D

Eboue and Diaby on the other hand. Very inconsistent players. Nasri was good but failed to find space opening up as the other players sat there. We needed Arshavin to make a killer run or Fabagas to make a killer pass. I wonder if Wenger was thinking he would have started Persie...

What else can I moan at?!

You missed Rosicky. Unfortunately it won't surprise me if he goes in the summer. It seems injury has really taken it's toll, as he's just not the same player. As sad as it is, the same goes for Eduardo.

It will be Rooney, easily, especially in a World Cup Year.

Carling don't do debut goals but if they did...

Naturally as a United fan I find it virtually impossible to praise other teams/players but that is easily the main contender for goal of the season.

And especially because he's been the best player this season.

Carling should really concentrate on making their lager better before they branch out.

Damn you Arsenal you could have done us a massive favour last night, now we`ll have to rely on Chelsea and/or Man Utd, because i can`t see City winning every game until the end of the season. Typical Blues fan, allways skeptical :D

As for player of the year, even though i`m a City fan and think Tevez deserves all the recent praise he`s had i still think Rooney has been the best of the best this year. The games Man Utd have played without him have showed how much he brings to the team as a whole.

Was it just me or did Arsenal seem a bit lightweight last night, as if the spurs midfield could just use a bit of upper body weight to ease the Arsenal guys off the ball. Until van Persie came on anyway, then the players seemed to wan`t to keep the ball as they knew he would be making runs, getting into scoring positions!
Maybe one player does have the ability to change the way a whole team plays and their mindset towards a game.

Here we go again.....

On Friday, The Sun newspaper said Real will bid £90m for the England striker, 24, and offer him £250,000 a week.
"It's the silly season isn't it," said Ferguson. "It always happens at the end of the season. Wayne Rooney will still be here next year."
Like Ronaldo is still here you mean Alex, and you wouldn't sell them a virus.

I just hope this is all utter garbage.
